This post contains a substance abuse discussion.Charlie Sheen is back in the news, two tell-alls: a two-part Netflix document Also known as Charlie Sheen It will premiere September 10th and memoir Scene book It will come out the day before. If you are totally familiar with the actor’s past, you know that his revelation promises about life are certainly interesting. And there are already a few things, starting with the release of both entities. In both books and Docuseries, Charlie reveals that he had previously had sexual encounters with men. This is something he has never discussed before. “I flipped the menu over,” he says in both. In the documentary (via) people), he also says that his decision to talk about these experiences feels “liberating.”“It’s liberating… We just talk about things,” he says. The damn piano didn’t fall from the sky. No one ran into the room and shot me. ”“I’m not going to run away from my past, or I’m not going to make it own me,” Charlie said in an interview with people – And with a another Interview with Good morning Americathe actor (now a sobering eight years) detailed how sexual encounters with men began while shaking cocaine. “That’s what started it,” he says. “That’s where it was born or where the sparks were.”“And in the time I was off the pipe, I was trying to navigate it and try to agree to it. “Where did it come from? … why did it happen? So, some of it was strange.Charlie also said that part of the reason he’s quiet about these experiences is to pay people back not to talk about his personal life.“At the time I just said, ‘It’s okay, I just pay to keep it quiet’ and hope it just stays there,” he explained. “Let me erase it, you know, just don’t erase it… because they have things, they had things, etc on the video and on me, so I was a hostage of sorts.”Next week we’ll see what else we’ve learned! If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, you can call Samhsa’s national helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) and find more resources here.
