Charli XCX’s club bathroom choices spark debate

That Charli XCX said it was viral again in 2024, no, “I don’t think the apples are far from the tree/”

Last year, @warnermusicu Share Charli’s video explaining which bathroom she prefers at the club and her reaction received a bit of backlash. “I actually avoid the girls’ bathrooms at the club,” she said. “I always like sneaking into boys because there’s no line and no drama.”

He said, “It’s annoying”…” she chatted, explaining she was the type who “gets it done and goes out.”

Well, the internet has discovered that the video is slowly rising to the surface, like the decomposition of Lakes in Buckwoods. And now there are a lot of new mixed reactions to Charli’s polarized hot take. Here’s what they’re saying:

Some people disagreed with Charli’s reason not to use women’s bathrooms at clubs. “It’s crazy for women to be labeled as an existing ‘drama’, but it’s framed as quirky for them to sneak into men’s bathrooms. The bar is underground. ”

Another said, “If women don’t snatch your weave, you can’t even pee in the club, then you’re living a foul.”

Others have defended women’s bathrooms, suggesting that it is a place full of positivity and fun times. “Girls’ bathrooms are usually weird because drunk women praise each other. Honestly, girls’ bathrooms in the club are a good place.”

Another said, “She missed so much back then. The girls’ bathroom is amazing!

The person said, “I’ve literally never seen a drama in a woman’s bathroom.

Conversely, some people defended which club bathrooms to use. “Simultaneously she’s an ally because you don’t know how many times you have gay friends while all the girls go to the bathroom together for 30 minutes.”

One person said, “I literally don’t know that avoiding socializing is misogynistic. She says she wants to come and go, and doesn’t stop, why is convos happening (she’s a celebrity!)

And finally, this person says, “Is she really not meaning “drama” and that she didn’t want to go out without going in and taking photos or talking about Ykwim?

I think the bathrooms at the club are all rough, crowded and filled with some kind of drama, so I run across the street and slip into McDonald’s, or buy one pancake from Denny and let me use the toilet. Charli XCX points to a fair point, but I’m biased as she’s been wrapped up in my Spotify for years.

With less drama, what are your thoughts about Charlie saying she uses men’s bathrooms at clubs? Let’s talk about it in the comments.
