The arrest came shortly after the incident of Orestes Sebastian Suarez. Sebastian Suarez is charged with one count of rubbing chalk on the bottom of his shoe and interfering with a traffic control device by walking along a crosswalk with his wife.

“It’s just crazy in my opinion to come here, do something like this, to be threatened with something extreme as a felony accusation to protest your fellow people and show love,” Suarez said. Wesh 2.

The next day, the judge dismissed his case and found a “possible cause” for his arrest.

It remains to be seen whether Florida’s crackdown on crosswalk chokes will continue.
