As the end of the year approaches, capital pride alliance Today, we announced that we will revamp our system for 2026.
The CPA, which hosts numerous LGBTQ Pride events in Washington and the region (most notably the annual Capital Pride Festival and Parade and World Pride 2025), is transitioning from a president/vice president leadership model to an executive committee led by a board president, treasurer, and secretary.
CPA also announced its next board of directors, who will take office in December. Notably, the new Executive Committee is comprised entirely of women for the first time in the organization’s history.
Anna Jinkerson, who has been on the board since 2022, will serve as chair of the board. She brings her executive experience to positions as assistant to the president and chief of staff for nonprofit organizations. living citywhose mission is to “harness the collective power of philanthropy, financial institutions, and local government to close the racial wealth gap.”
As a disabled veteran with over 20 years of service, Kim Baker brings to the board a resume in finance, security and risk management to serve as finance director. Secretary Taylor Leanne Chandler joined the CPA Board in 2019, becoming the first executive committee member to identify as intersex and transgender.
“As the first woman to serve as chair of the Capital Pride Alliance, I understand the importance of elevating the voices of those in our communities who may not have a voice,” Jinkerson said in the CPA announcement.

We look forward to Anna’s new role and to working with Kim and Taylor as we take on the important work ahead, prepare for Capital Pride 2026, and expand our platform and voice through Pride365.”
The changes come after the organization secured an independent firm to investigate “allegations” against Mr Smith, who resigned as chairman in October. Meanwhile, Mr. Jinkerson is serving as interim chairman of the board.
In recent moves, Voss’ title has evolved from executive director to CEO, while June Crenshaw’s leadership position remains as associate director.
