Benedict Cumberbatch regrets the role of non-binary Zoolander 2

Benedict Cumberbatch As you already know, he is a pretty famous actor. He has been nominated for an Oscar Two timesand he is loved by many for his turn as Dr. Strange in the MCU – not to mention his role as an honorable detective in the BBC series Sherlock.

Of course, even the well-respected actors have lapsed in judgment. Zoolander2 It’s coming in.

In the film, Benedict played an NB model named All. And people were naturally angry. There was even Online petition The depiction was called “the equivalent of the modern era of using blackface to represent minorities.” Very fair criticism!

Like so many things, the whole incident is not just aging (and it wasn’t great to begin with), but to his credit, Benedict knows it.

In a recent interview with Varietythe actor admitted that portraying the role was not the right choice. “I had to apologise a lot for that, and it’s hard to talk about,” he said.

“I loved that group of people, it was the first time I was iconic and I was a huge fan. But it got complicated, misunderstood and upset people.”

“I respect that and probably won’t do it now.”

I think we can all agree that it’s a good thing!
