Bella Ramsey speaks of autism diagnosis in our end

Bella Ramsey spoke about being diagnosed with autism during filming the first season of the film Our Last.

In 2023, Bella said in an Interview They were recently diagnosed with Neurodivergent. “I don’t know if I’ll be an actor or not [being neurodivergent]. One thing about me is that I am very perceptive and sometimes too perceptive. I’m paralyzed because I see everything – it takes me four hours to go around Tesco,” they explained, noting their sensitivity to “micro-expression and social cues.”

In a new interview with British trendsBella said she didn’t want to identify what they were diagnosed “for some reason.” They then said, “I was diagnosed with autism while filming season 1. Our Last. ”

Bella “always wondered if they were autistic,” but assuming that crew members with children with autism were autistic, causing formal assessments. They described themselves as “fairy” as children, “solid” and experienced an overabundance of people’s facial expressions and sensory issues. The latter included a response to heat and waterproofing that must be worn in the show’s cold chute.

Describing autism as an asset to acting, Bella said, “I’ve always been looking at and learning from people. Having to learn more manually how to interact and interact with the people around me helped me with acting.” They also said they enjoyed the set routine: “I have time to call and tell me what to wear, how to stand, where to stand, what to eat.”

Regarding the “liberation” diagnosis, Bella said, “It allows me to walk the world with more blessings to myself about not being able to do simple everyday tasks that anyone else could do.”

Compared to the labels surrounding gender identity and sexuality, the 21-year-old said, “The label of autism has been very helpful to me.

Certainly, Bella knows she can’t explore her gender and sexual identity privately – and “a little sad.” Conversely, sharing your autism diagnosis allows you to “quickly mask” when talking to people. “My experience moving around the world is as an autistic person,” they added. “There’s no reason people don’t know.”
