A university professor who is the author of anti-LGBTQ+ works has been charged with multiple sex crimes against children.
John Kent Tarwater, 55, of Greene County, Ohio, was charged with two counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and three counts of gross sexual imposition. The prosecution period is from August 2019 to July 2025.
According to reports Dayton is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.One of the alleged victims was under the age of 13 in 2019.
Tarwater allegedly used force or threats of force to compel the victims to submit to the abuse.
Tarwater, who denies all charges, had bail set at $1 million, although his attorney, Jay A. Adams, argued that bail is more common in murder cases. According to Greene County Sheriff’s Officestill in custody at the time of publication.
The man was “de-contracted” from Cedarville University last October, according to . daily mailwas placed on administrative leave in July after the university was informed of the allegations.
The school’s vice president for human resources told the campus community in an email: “Our understanding is that these accusations do not involve anyone Dr. Tarwater met or interacted with in his capacity as a university professor…Nonetheless, we want to be transparent and ensure the safety of everyone on campus.”
Tarwater is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on April 28 before a jury trial begins in June.

As per lloyds reportTarwater, who is said to be the father of 10 children, has published numerous works on so-called Christian sexual ethics.
One book, published in 2005, was titled “Marriage as a Covenant: Reflecting on God’s Plan at Creation and Modern Moral Consequences.”
In 2021, he wrote “Business Ethics in the Marketplace: Exploring Transgenderism.” Journal of Markets and Morality. In it, he wrote, “If transgender debate continues to take root in our culture, as it has begun to do in courts and Congress, it will have devastating effects on both the church and the marketplace, exposing Christians to public criticism and further legal battles.”
