Robert De Niro’s transgender daughter Irene De Niro says his support for her has been “constant” in a heartwarming new interview.

“His support continues to be constant and I am so grateful for it,” she told LGBTQ+ Magazine. they.
“I talked to him about it recently, and I told him I wanted to make some changes to make myself more confident. He told me about it, which was very positive in a way, because he was saying things like: You don’t have to do anything to change yourself.”

Aylin came out publicly in May after speaking to a magazine about her transition. Shortly after, her father expressed his unwavering support, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he loves and supports his daughter.
Since then, the influencer has shared stories of her father’s alliances, including the two-time Oscar winner offering to accompany her to obtain gender-affirming hormones.
“We have no choice but to accept children as they are.”
She told The Them in an interview published earlier this week that during a group therapy session, Robert was asked what he thought about Aylin’s changes and replied: “There’s nothing left to do but accept your child as he is and decide where he goes in life.”
“He’s a very good father, and that’s not all. [but also] We accept people from all walks of life,” Irene said.
She said the two had a conversation after Robert expressed hesitation about the idea of Aylin undergoing gender reassignment surgery, and Robert was open to it.
“I explained it to him from the perspective of a trans woman, especially one who started transitioning late,” she said. [I shared] That’s why I’m interested in doing some kind of procedure to relax my body.
“He understands and accepts that perspective. He just wants me to be careful and know where I’m going. So he says that’s not necessary. But if I want to do it, he’ll support me. That’s the biggest thing trans kids want in a parent.”
