Your love isn’t one in a million people.
There are 1,168,566 same-sex couples living together in the United States. Snapshot Of the 2020 census by the Williams Institute, 57% are married and 22% are raising their own children. Of the couples, 52.4% are women and 47.7% are men.
California also has the most same-sex couples (162,914) as it has the largest overall population of any state. However, same-sex couples in California make up a relatively small portion of the state’s total population, which is relatively smaller than others (12.09 per 1,000).

If it counts as a state, Washington, DC would have the highest amount of same-sex couples at speeds of more than twice the next best entry.
Here is the state where each person has the most same gay couple living together. This does not only include married couples, but many of these states were one of the first states to legalize marriage equality.
10. Florida

Florida There are 11.34 same-sex couples for every 1,000 households, with a total of 96,694 families.
9. New Mexico
New Mexico There are 11.47 same-sex couples per 1,000 households, representing a total of 9,517.
6. Massachusetts

Massachusettsthe first states that legalized marriage equality had 12.17 same-sex couples for every 1,000 households, which totaled 33,452.
4. Nevada
Nevada There are 12.32 same-sex couples for every 1,000 households in Hawaii, but there are more total couples at 14,504.

Delaware has the most identical couples per person, with 12.61 people per 1,000 households. That totals 4,873.
