What is burnout?
Burnout Burnout is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion caused by constant stress. It is usually due to problems at work. It is also common at home and can be caused by caring for elderly parents or a spouse or partner. By definition, burnout is a type of chronic stress that seems impossible to recover from. When you are in the midst of burnout stress, there is no end in sight. Stress can be short-term or harmless if it is related to a specific goal. If the stress feels endless and is accompanied by feelings of emptiness, apathy and hopelessness, it could be a sign of burnout. To stop burnout, it is important to look for the end result, such as the work not getting better, having to find another job, or this will get you a promotion. If your spouse or partner is not helping you get things together, the relationship is over. Relationships are a two-way street. If you are in a one-way relationship, you need to distance yourself and see if the other person wants to resolve it. You can’t force someone to love you. So it’s time to move on to someone else. Determination often counteracts the negative effects at work. Other motivators are autonomy and a good, hard challenge. Love My Burnout!
