Yoga this morning was great. My body needed stretching. The class was one of the tough but good sessions. thank you Taylor!
A great yoga class will not only help you stretch and ease your body, but it will also help you space your mind, reflect, and let your mind drift. Sometimes, I can’t immediately hit the keyboard after class. Today was one of those days. (It may also have something to do with that adorable little moon’s sextile Mercury aspect.)
This is a very important period astrologically. So many things are changing, evolving, changing to become something new.
Saturn’s move into Aries has been on my mind, especially some of the conversations I had with Britt a few weeks ago.
When Saturn leaves Pisces, I feel like I’m waking up.
I know Saturn entering Aries is getting a lot of attention, but we’ll get to that in a moment. But before we rush ahead, it seems appropriate to look back.
(I wrote about Saturn in Aries here before, in case you missed it. classic crowd house tunewhile writing this article, please don’t let your dreams end. )
Silence and dreams of Saturn in Pisces
I’m thinking about the sluggish, slower, more stagnant nature of water signs, and how Saturn in Pisces had a sort of floating quality. A strange feeling of being submerged in a dream or a season of life, as if you were there.
For me personally, Saturn settling in Pisces in March 2023 came at the end of a very busy 18 months that included moving overseas and major renovations to my home.
By the time Saturn entered Pisces, I didn’t want to do anything, I didn’t want to go anywhere, I didn’t want to make any more decisions. (If you have ever experienced a renovation or relocation, you will understand what I mean.)
I wanted what Saturn in Pisces provides: stillness, time, and space to just be. Eliminates or at least reduces the need for extra work, administration, and rushing. After months of having contractors come to my house, I also wanted the tranquility associated with water signs.
In hindsight, this preference seems even clearer now that Saturn in Pisces is gone. As if that were necessary, but perhaps not anymore.
I can’t calm down right now. What’s next? I’m open to movement and change like I haven’t been in a while.
While Saturn was in Pisces, I was in deep thought, reflection, and deep inwardness.
I tried some things, changed others, and went deeper into healing, but much of my life, to the outside eye, remained the same. The form and structure of life and its overall form were stable.
Now, what kind of shapes and structures would be interesting to try? I don’t know if what I have now is still the best.
This opening, this uncanny sense of movement, feels new and very relevant. SAries reversal.
dry in fire signs
Many astrologers, including myself, talk about planets transitioning from water signs to fire signs as planets that are drying up. It’s as if the Earth is shaking off something and regaining its energy, gaining clarity and focus.
Perhaps this is what you are also feeling as Saturn undergoes a qualitative change from water to fire?
Maybe you don’t know what’s going to happen next, but do you find yourself feeling the urge to experiment and see what’s possible?
Maybe you’re like me and just accept that things are different, even if you don’t know where, how, or how that’s different yet.
Uncertainty due to transition
The elements of water and fire have no common properties. Water is cold and moist, but fire is hot and dry. They are as different as two elements.
So you are feeling adjusted, confused, and out of place to the point where Saturn completely changes its face.
The energy quality of the past three years with Saturn in Pisces has been slow and still stagnant. It seemed easier than doing something new and different, so I encouraged them to keep going. What we’ve been doing isn’t necessarily good, it’s just that it’s easier to keep going than trying to break new ground.
The atmosphere has changed.
What we were able to cruise with and sail on the coast is no longer possible.
When you and everyone around you wake up from this collective dream space, you may feel encouraged, surprised, or even surprised.
“Oh, what is this? What is this happening? Is this real?”
There is honesty and truth there, and perhaps a hard realization or three.
And Aries wants to know, so what are we going to do with our arms around all this?
Because Saturn in Aries is at rest, stagnant, silent, and uninvolved.
Saturn in Aries is pushing, prodding, prodding, trying, testing, and shaking. Can we challenge conventional wisdom? Do you want to create a new rule here?
I recently rewatched Rivals (spoilers ahead!) and thought that the plot changes in the middle of episode 6 first represented Saturn in Pisces, dreamy, idyllic, secluded summer days at the cottage, then Saturn in Aries, where Shane’s parents show up and reality hits, and the need to share the truth, be honest, and think of new plans for the future.
Dry clarity: honesty about what is.
The fire element demands movement, pushes upwards, but does not stop.
The double dry nature of Saturn in Aries is becoming clear, even if what is realized is not great. The gift of Saturn in Aries is to see things as they really are, for better or for worse.
Distance and separation will likely be Saturn in Aries, like containment and healthy separation. Of course, this can go too far and cause the structure and shape to collapse, crack and fall apart.
When I think about space and distance in this way, I think of the following. spaghetti arm scene (Click to advance to 2.50) From “Dirty Dancing,” Patrick Swayze’s character says, “Your dance space, my dance space.”
Each dancer is instructed to stay in their own space, which helps the dance come together. You can’t get close here.
This is Saturn in Aries. Find your own dance space. You own the realm of movement, activity, and expression. And be aware of how your actions affect those around you.
With Saturn in Aries, you can also consider how you take responsibility for your efforts while also seeing how they contribute to the greater whole.
What is changing and being revealed in and around you as Saturn enters Aries?
