One of the thoughts I have been pondering about Leo Suns since recording my weekly astrology videos for members is the idea of being stubborn about things that are in your best interest.
The Sun in Leo is a shining beacon of light, vitality and possibility. Not only will it help you improve your health and wellness, it will also lift your spirits and help you understand the true essence of leadership and self-confidence.
The glory of the sun in the dwelling
The Sun in Leo will be your solar ruler or domicile, which also brings stability, consistency, and reliability.
Of course, some of these traits are also associated with the fixed aspect, and the Sun in Leo can be particularly helpful in building a routine that you can stick to.
These are some of the qualities I am referring to when I talk about the Leo sun, or Leo season, being a time of becoming stubborn about what is in your best interests.
Be Stubborn About What’s Good for You: Leo Season
You may be resolving to improve an area of your life or find new consistency (especially think about your Leo house theme!).
You may be adamant about sticking to your priorities, whether that be increasing certain activities or behaviors or decreasing certain trends or things.
This energizing, elevating nature of the Sun in Leo lasts for about four weeks each year. In 2024, the Sun will be in Leo from July 22nd to August 22nd.
New Moon in Leo: Vibrant Beginnings
As we enter the first week of August, there are two astronomical events relating to the sun in Leo that may make this vital, strengthened, and determined energy especially manifest.
First, there will be a new moon in Leo on Sunday, August 4th.
The New Moon is at 12 degrees Leo, close to sextile with Jupiter and no aspect with Saturn.
This new moon may bring clues of expansion, growth, or new opportunities — you might be feeling hopeful about the future or simply ready for a fresh start.
Without Saturn involved, you might be free to move forward unshackled by obstacles or fears, and you might be able to put aside some long-term concerns or worries, at least for a while.
August’s new moon could give you a great opportunity for a fresh start or to step in a new direction, which is definitely a sign to give it a go.
Sun Jupiter Sextile in Gemini: Enhance the Positive
The second glorious event in early August is the Sun-Jupiter sextile. This aspect, which is connected to the New Moon, comes into its own on Wednesday, August 7th.
This aspect was chosen by me as the best aspect for August and I shared it with members in my monthly overview video.
The Sun-Jupiter sextile forms from 15 degrees Leo to 15 degrees Gemini, exactly when the Sun is in the middle of Leo, the marker that triggers the quarter-monthly festivals in the wheel of the year.
The Sun at 15 degrees Leo marks the midpoint between the Cancer Solstice in late June and the Libra Equinox in late September, a time of peak seasonal energy that marks the peak of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere and the peak of Winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
But let’s go back to the Sun-Jupiter sextile in Gemini.
The Sun in Leo can be amplified by an aspect with Jupiter, which can bring about greater self-confidence and a truer understanding of your talents and worth, and may provide you with some crucial wisdom to help you move forward.
If you need to express your preference or claim for something you know you deserve, now may be the perfect time to do so.
Wisdom and interactions that help you grow become available. Jupiter gives you a sense of adventure and a risk-taking nature, helping you grow beyond what you know.
Along the way, you may come across more meaningful choices or simply gain knowledge that empowers and inspires you.
Around August 7, the river of cosmic generosity will be flowing and abundant. You may receive favors and blessings, or give gifts, support, and encouragement to others.
I know astrology puts a lot of emphasis on the more challenging planets and aspects, and these thoughts about the Sun in Leo have helped me to stubbornly think about what is good for me, and I hope they have the same effect on you.
