Venus is currently retrograde and remains in place until April 12th. Mercury went backwards on March 15th.
These times are more moving and powerful, as Venus is less retrograde than any other planet. During this “backward” movement, you can expect a reevaluation of your joys, desires, and fine-tuning to existing relationships. Venus will move from Aries to Pisces in late March, so we are hoping for changes in the Venus region affected by the chart.
Mercury will go backwards from March 15th to April 7th. Mercury moves from Aries to Pisces during the retrograde cycle. When Mercury is retrograde, it is the perfect time to keep up with things. Mercury is in Pisces’ house, so expect a little more ease during this part of its retrograde movement.

Venus and Mercury Reverse in Aries
Hello, welcome to this week’s show.
Today we’ll be talking about a retrograde planet in Aries. We will talk about the retrograde to Venus in Aries, which began on March 1st, and about the mercury retrograde in Aries, which began on March 15th.
I think it’s fine with all the instability emanating from Eclipse. If you’re new and want to know more about Eclipse, check out last week’s episode.
So, starting this weekend, two planets will be retrograde to Aries. This could mean hitting the brakes, slowing down, and a lot of rethinking and reorganising.
Let’s first catch up with Venus retrograde, then look at Mercury retrograde.
Before we do, I would like to let you know about my next astrological webinar. This is all about ancient timing. Here’s how to deal with the sign’s ascending era and small years of planets. You can find two fun new ways to activate timing on your birth chart. These techniques are much easier than you would want to work with, and may point out important periods of your life that you haven’t yet adjusted. You can find out more about the webinar or sign up at www.kellysastrology.com.
Now let’s take a look at the retrograde of Venus.
Venus begins retrograde on March 1st and continues to reverse the zodiac sign until April 12th.
Venus is the least retrograde of all planets. Venus retrogrades every 18 months for about six weeks. This is a powerful time to reevaluate, to question what you enjoy and who you like, and to make some changes to reflect what your desires and connections think is the most enjoyable right now.
One of the personal things I used this Venus retrograde is reconstructing artwork that I had frames I had never loved. A few years ago we went to Greece for my sister’s wedding and bought some gorgeous Santorini canvas there. When I got home I was surrounded by frames and installed, but I never loved the frame.
For years I’ve seen this picture, I’ve loved the pictures, but I always regretted the frame. Finally, earlier this month, just a few days after Venus retrograded, I took this photo to a new framer and accomplished it the way we always wanted.
This idea of redoing, fixing, and tweaking, the beauty is all part of Venus’ retrograde. Now, the image is hung in a more prominent position, and seeing it gives you a smile.
A special feature about Venus’ retrograde is that it returns to the same part of the constellations every eight years. This means the current Venus retrograde, which takes place in part in Aries and takes place in Pisces, reviving some of the constellations and revitalizing the charts that were last stirred by Venus retrograde in March and April 2017.
Interestingly, 2017 was the year I bought this particular piece of art!
In 2025, Venus’ retrograde is mostly Aries, with a bit of Pisces. So I want to break down the differences here.
Venus is retrograde in Aries from March 1st to 27th. Venus will then be retrograded in Pisces from March 27th to April 12th.
The first part of Venus’ retrogradeness in Aries, where she is retrograde, can be bewildered, as it is both retrograde and disadvantageous here. You may have more independent or experimental attitudes, or you may want space from people who usually spend a lot of time.
The second part of Venus’ retrogradeness, where Venus is retrograde in Pisces, together, has a different feeling. Here, Venus is still retrograde, but now she is in the sign of her uplift. Here, questions and exploration of leisure, joy, relationships and beauty continue, but the process can be smoother, softer, or more healing, repairs and reconnections.
The retrograde of Venus can be a special time to retreat, bring your loving attention back into your own heart, and remember your neglected love, hobbies and experiences. It can also be a time to awaken joy and update or improve your connections with others, focusing on the topics of Aries and Pisces on the charts.
And you’ll also tweak beautiful things in your home and it will really make you smile!
Mercury Reverse
Ok, I was able to talk about Venus retrograde for a few days, but I wanted to quickly touch Mercury retrograde in today’s show too.
Mercury will begin its next retrograde on March 15th, continuing to reverse the constellations until April 7th.
Like Venus, the mercury retrograde is partly in Aries and partly in Pisces.
Unlike Venus, the troublesome part of mercury retrograde will be when mercury is in Pisces, as mercury is a less obvious sign of mercury.
Therefore, the first part of Mercury’s retrograde is in Aries, running from March 15th to 29th. The second part of the mercury retrograde is Pisces, which runs from March 29th to April 7th.
A brief summary here – both Venus and Mercury go backwards in the second half of March and early April. The second half of March also includes two solar eclipses. So there is definitely a confused, confused or questionable quality that is coming on many levels now!
Reversals, delays, and changes in direction and focus are likely to occur.
Mercury’s retrograde actually helps you catch up. So, think of Mercury Retrograde as time to organize, organize and manage unfinished businesses.
From retrograde to solar eclipse, it’s not the ideal time to start for many reasons. Instead, you might think of this as housekeeping and chasing, and time for spring cleaning and organizing.
That may mean finishing things or establishing a prominent problem. That may mean rethinking and retreating from the obligations you realise you don’t want to continue any more.
Mercury retrograde takes on even more importance as Mercury is also the ruler of Virgo, reinforcing the theme of looking back and dealing with the past before moving forward. This will be especially strong in the last two weeks of March.
