Eye on the Sky: Christmas and a call to resurrection
With the new moon near last week’s winter solstice, moola nakshatra (Sagittarius 0°–13°20 minutes)—We are reminded that rebirth often occurs through darkness. Moolah, coinciding with the Galactic Center, represents a deep dissolution that paves the way for awakening. Goddess Nriti does not destroy for punishment, but to eradicate illusion and restore truth.
Right now, we are being asked to choose gratitude and awareness over fear. The global discourse continues to push for war with Europe, pretending to support peace but secretly wanting war with Russia, only to fail to seize Russian assets. Gaza appears to be quite vulnerable, Hamas has not given up its weapons, and Iran is stockpiling missiles as if not to get rid of a defeated wild cat. The richness of the stock market is great for those with the right stocks and accounts, but very few people benefit from it. This year’s biggest Christmas gift was the creation of an investment account for 25 million children born between 2025 and 2028 to receive a $1,000 Treasury seed invested in an index fund.
Real change starts in the community, through compassion, generosity, and service. Supporting food banks, helping the homeless and just being kind is more important than ever. This behavior should not be limited to the holiday season. There are far more people who choose good over darkness, even if they don’t get noticed. We are here to lift each other up. It’s not about living in fear, waiting for the next crisis.
This final New Moon is beautifully aligned with a deeper spiritual rebirth. With Jupiter in its own planet of Punvarvasu (20 degrees Gemini – 3.20 degrees Cancer), the energies are shifting towards a sense of divine abundance and generosity. It is a powerful reminder that the real work now is within, in awakening our inner light.

This season invites us to expand our hearts beyond fear, division, and self-concern. Being reborn is not something that happens to us, but something we consciously choose.
