Rahu in Uttara Bhadrapada (3.20-16.40 Pisces) until February 2025
Rahu will move through the sign in early July and will remain in the true nodal system until February 23, 2025. The Uttarabhadrapada sign (3.20-16.40 Pisces) is made up of two bright stars, Pegasus and Andromeda. The combination of Rahu and Saturn can be very anxiety-generating and increase work and alcoholism. On a spiritual level, Saturn is an ascetic with emphasis on meditation, and Rahu in Pisces can amplify the desire to find the ultimate truth and understand the deepest karma. This combination is also good for a political career or the promotion of democratic principles. If Rahu/Saturn is influenced by one or more malefics, there may be an increased tendency towards Cancer. The Rahu/Saturn conjunction will occur in March 2025.
Uttarbhadrapada sign means “fortunate feet” and is associated with the funeral bed, which marks the exit from this world, the wisdom sign in the zodiac, associated with moksha or liberation, and also with sleep. The deity of this sign is Ahir Budhanya, which translates as “serpent of the abyss” and is a fertility god, but also a kind of sea monster similar to Neptune, and is associated with the underworld. It is associated with Shiva, who destroys ignorance and prepares us for annihilation.
The nature of this nakshatra is that although it appears calm due to the Pisces nature, there is a lot of inner turmoil in search of universal truth and one has to face ups and downs. Though the sattvic nature predominates, the main motivation or purushartha is towards kama which has tamasic tendencies. Note that the kama of this nakshatra is not sexual passion but a strong desire to merge with the universal consciousness. As Rahu is retrograde, this is the second immature journey and one is not mature enough to understand spirituality here and will struggle.
The energy of this sign is that of a wise old man and it is associated with Saturn, which never acts rashly, but with Saturn retrograde and being a bit rowdy, I am worried that its anxious nature will come out and create even more anxiety.
This sign has to do with responsibility, and with the strength of Saturn in Aquarius, you should be able to take on challenges. Still, this sign usually brings good luck in making and dealing with money, which is not necessarily associated with Pisces. On an esoteric level, it has to do with the crown chakra, and represents the end of the journey that the Kundalini energy is heading towards.
Rahu’s lord, Pisces, is ruled by Jupiter, which should give him the wisdom to face adversity in search of his spiritual roots. Rahu may make initial mistakes in his search for truth, as he is too egoistic or materialistic. This can lead to painful experiences and the dark night of the soul. Eventually, Rahu must learn to let go of fear and embark on the final journey towards liberation.
Rahu and Ketu always move in pairs, and at the opposite pole, Ketu is in Hasta (10-23.20 Virgo) in the True Nodal System until November 19, 2024. Ketu brings great frustrations, but can lead to deep spiritual growth and insights. The opposite nature of the dispositor creates emotional upheaval and hard lessons, which can help overcome the maya of the material world, and can help awaken the soul to greater happiness after many trials.
On a day-to-day level, growing anxieties about the future of the world and the United States seem to be stirred up by this transit, and given that this transit will continue until February of next year, we would be better off getting used to the increased anxiety, finding time to meditate, drink calming herbal teas, and staying away from the media to counter this influence.
