Mercury in Virgo: Short stay from September 22 to October 10
Virgo is one of the attractive signs that represents the World Mother. Those with a Virgo ascendant may feel disconnected from material wealth and sensual pleasures, and may feel unhappy carrying the sins of the world, which the German word for “Virgo” embodies. When a planet appears in Virgo in any sign of the zodiac, it means that we need to be better, improve and become pure. As Virgo is the natural 6th house of the zodiac, it means that we need discipline in our regular work, health and diet to prevent illness, and also that we need to develop skills in working with people so that we don’t have animosity with our colleagues at work. The problem is Saturn, expecting too much perfection from the world and being too hard on ourselves and our weaknesses.
Sometimes we belittle ourselves too much, constantly beating ourselves up in the dark, or we focus too much on always wanting to do better, but this can also be a positive quality. The key words to remember are purity and improvement.
Mercury moves into its exalted sign, Virgo, on September 22nd and will remain there until October 10th. The first week of Mercury in Virgo is probably the best time before it gets ill-affected. After that, in Virgo, it will combust within 5 degrees from September 24th to October 8th, but it will not be severe, so it will be an ill-affected transit. Mercury is used to the Sun and only gets intense energy within 3 to 5 degrees. Combustion of Mercury can create a buzzing, busy mind and increase nervousness.
Mercury will be conjunct Ketu in the true nodal system until September 30th, and a solar eclipse will occur at 15 degrees Virgo, with Mercury being struck by it within 2 degrees. The Mercury-Ketu conjunction is good for intellect and intuition, but be careful with proofreading, as it can sometimes scatter energy in the mind and lead to mistakes. Mercury will also be conjunct Ketu within 3 degrees from September 28th to October 2nd, and Mercury will be conjunct the Sun on October 1st. This can cause chaotic and frenetic mental activity, confusion, anger, and difficulty in processing and communicating information to others. Surprises and mental imbalances are possible. Fortunately, this is a quick transit.
Mercury in Virgo is a great time for deep thinking and creative expression in music and writing, as well as clarity of mind and consistency of thought. Gemini and Virgo will have good transits, especially in terms of health and career. For Gemini, it is a 4th house transit, bringing abundance in family life and opportunities for property development and renovation projects. For Libra, it is a 12th house transit, and for Pisces, it is a 7th house transit, which may bring more problems than other signs.
Mars is forming a square with Mercury from Gemini to Virgo, which may cause accidents, arguments, and disagreements. This will occur precisely on October 6th, but may be most felt on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8th and 9th.
So, enjoy the first part of the transit, as from October 25 onwards, problems with Mercury will become more severe.
