Eye in the Sky: Jupiter Stationary Direct in Purnavasu Nakshatra, Gemini

Jupiter, everyone’s favorite big dog in the sky, is extremely powerful as it prepares to go direct on March 10, 2026, after a long retrograde period since last November. It will remain in Gemini until June 1st, after which it will move into Cancer. And its upcoming entry into the sign of exaltation will be one of the most important astrological changes of 2026. But now, within this still window, we are experiencing a focused and powerful burst of Jupiterian energy that deserves our full attention.

Purnavas Nakshatra Jupiter station spanning from 20 degrees Gemini to 3 degrees Cancer 20 minutes. This is a nakshatra that I hold dear to my heart. I was born with stationary Jupiter in Purnavas in Gemini, sitting in the first house of my Karakamsha Rashi chart, Jaimini’s life purpose chart. I attribute much of my love of teaching and writing to this placement, and observe all of Jupiter’s stations in Gemini with pure personal interest. Purnavas means “good abode again” and has the quality of restoration, restoration, and rebirth. Its presiding deity is Aditi, the infinite mother of gods, whose essence is inexhaustible nourishment and bounty.

Jupiter will be very powerful in the sky 5 days before and 5 days after the station. So from around March 5th to around March 15th, we are in a particularly powerful window of expansion, wisdom, and good fortune. Thursday, ruled by Jupiter, will be especially strong during this period. Pay close attention to what opens up to you this week.

The deeper meaning of Jupiter’s stationing in Purnavas is revealed through the core themes of the nakshatra. As I often teach, Purnavas is the planet of recovery. Purnavas asks us to consider what needs to be renewed in our lives, what resources and relationships will return after a period of absence, and what abundance is ready to flow in again. Jupiter here is very comfortable. Jupiter is the natural lord of Purnavas and when the planet transits its own Nakshatra, Jupiter functions in full power. This is Jupiter, the most benevolent and the wisest.

Jupiter enters Cancer on June 1st, entering the sign of exaltation, nearing the 5th degree of Cancer, the point where Jupiter is truly at its greatest power. The upcoming transition is something we are all looking forward to. But before that gift arrives, embrace what Jupiter in Gemini still has to offer: the gift of communication, learning, curiosity, writing, commerce, and the ability to connect ideas and people across distance.

As the station of Jupiter dictates, the advancing benefic planet once again strengthens its power to do good. The benefits of retrogradeness are inward. Those who receive direct benefits extend the blessings to the outside world. This station marks an important change. Jupiter’s flow of blessings, which may have felt more internal or delayed during the retrograde period, begins moving forward again with renewed momentum.

From a financial astrology perspective, Jupiter’s stationary direct motion can indicate that your marketing momentum will pick up and your business will expand after a few months of stagnation. If you’re planning to launch something, make a new offer, or make a bold move, the weeks after March 10th, and especially until June 1st, are one of the best times in 2026 to take action. Marketing tends to respond well to Jupiter direct. Business expansion efforts that seemed stagnant may start to move forward. And given Jupiter’s impending arrival in Cancer at its high point, the second half of 2026 will look considerably more optimistic than the first half from an economic perspective.

If you were born with Jupiter retrograde in your birth chart, this direct station will especially trigger your chart. Those born with Jupiter retrograde at birth will experience noticeable changes. Perhaps it’s a feeling of forward movement returning, an ability to receive good decisions more easily, or a situation in which you felt stuck is eased. Because Jupiter rules husbands and male relationships, women in particular may notice changes in their partnerships and relationships with male advisors, teachers, and mentors as Jupiter changes direction.

The spiritual aspect of Purnavas/Jupiter in Gemini reminds us that wisdom must be broad – it must be able to communicate, connect and share. Jupiter’s purpose as Brihaspati, the high priest of the gods, is to reveal the divine plan and send us on a mission to rediscover our own divinity. In Gemini and Purnavas, this mission takes on the qualities of a teacher who accepts many students and reaches many hearts. That grace finds people through words, through learning, through the simple act of one human being sharing something true with another human being. If you’ve ever been asked to write, teach, speak, or communicate something you’ve been procrastinating on, this station is your cue to start.

Jupiter is connected to the liver, which has over 750 major functions in the body. Even if it is a benefic, a very active Jupiter can overwork the liver. This is especially true if Jupiter is in a difficult position in your birth chart or if your liver tends to be dull. Drink warm water with freshly squeezed lemon every morning to keep your liver healthy. Be wary of heavy, greasy, or overly rich foods. Jupiter’s expansive energy can sometimes manifest as overeating. Jupiter also relates to the pancreas, so be wary of excessive sweets during this powerful period. Spinal twists are a great pose to support liver function during Jupiter’s powerful transits. As always, learn these poses from a qualified yoga instructor and don’t overdo it.

Of course, charts are very personal, and general articles affect people differently. You will feel this station most acutely if you have Sagittarius or Pisces rising, if Jupiter is retrograde in your birth chart, or if your major planet is at 20-29 degrees Gemini or 0-3 degrees Cancer. Those in Jupiter’s mahadasha or subperiod will also find this period particularly important.
