It’s the height of summer and people are still wearing jelly sandals and lightweight dresses, but I recently came across photos of Zoe Kravitz and Hailey Bieber showing off the ’70s bag trend that’s expected to be big this fall.
Last week, Kravitz was out in Los Angeles carrying a Saint Laurent leopard-print bohemian shoulder bag, breathing new life into a style that some consider “outdated.” She paired it with a white T-shirt, a chic blazer, loose jeans, and a black baseball cap. Black and Black These loafers complete a simple yet undeniably elegant ensemble.

Meanwhile, in another part of town that same week, Bieber Also Embracing the loose bag trend, she accessorized with a Saint Laurent Le 5 À 7 bag in the same print, pairing it with a leather jacket, black flared leggings and pointy kitten heels while attending church with husband Justin Bieber.

It’s clear that classic, fall-perfect bag styles are making a strong comeback and are expected to be one of the most important handbag trends for Fall 2024. And Justin Bieber and Kravitz aren’t the only ones driving this trend. The return of the bohemian aesthetic was undeniably evident at Chloé’s Fall/Winter 2024 fashion show, which featured sheer blouses, ruffled dresses, suede clogs, oversized glasses, and corduroy bootcut jeans. This was one of the most talked-about shows of the season, not only because it marked the debut of new creative director Chemena Kamali, but also because it reminded us that the bohemian aesthetic of the ’70s naturally exuded the carefree, cool-girl look that everyone tried to emulate, and still does today.
