Exhibitions, lectures, workshops, etc. in April this year

This Easter break is the perfect time to see the current exhibition. Explore Kith & Kin: Gee’s Bend Quilt It features the work of African-American women from a small Alabama community, and the work has become a symbol of black empowerment. Please immerse yourself in IMMA Collection: Art as an Agenta major display celebrating Imma’s permanent collection, featuring works from over 100 artists. This was also last month to see Hamadbat’s groundbreaking work at the exhibition. Hamad Batt: AnxiousIt will be closed on May 5, 2025.

Join us to celebrate Saturday, April 5th International Slow Art Day, Enjoy a wealth of events featuring immersive soundbaths, engaging drawing workshops and welcoming slow art tours to explore installations Woman in the well Joan Jonas.

Imma and Iput Real Estate are excited to launch a spring/summer program Living Canvas at ImmaOn the grounds of Imma, located on Europe’s largest digital art screen. Join us for panel discussions, receptions and premieres for the epic new film on Thursday, April 11th at 6pm alchemy By Claire Langan.

Late Art Day

Saturday, May 5th, 11am to 3pm

Free/Reservation required

Join us and celebrate international slow art day. Explore a variety of events, including slow art tours and guided tours that encourage you to spend time digging deeper and seeing more artwork. Drawing workshops to attract your senses with artist Renata Kowska. and Sound Bass Meditation Sound Alchemy Use crystals and Tibetan singing bowl sounds to help you slow down and relax.

Living canvas at Imma Spring/Summer Launch

Thursday, October 10th / 6am to 8am

People’s Pavilion/Reservations required

Imma and iput Real Estate invite you to start the Spring/Summer Program Living Canvas at Imma. The evening includes a panel discussion with artist Claire Langan. IMMA Director Annie Fletcher. Niall Gaffney, CEO of IPUT. Moderator journalist, curator and critic Gemma Tipton. This is followed by reception and special screening. alchemy, A new film by Claire Langan in 2023.

Seminars – Exploring creative practice on delicate sites

Join us for an inspiring seminar of lectures exploring creative practices in sensitive sites and locations related to conflict, oppression, confinement and other harm. Speakers, hosted by cultural historian Lisa Godson, include ANU Productions, Plattenbaustudio, Artist Brian Hand and Culturstruction.

Parents and baby time

Thursdays October 10th and 24th April / 11am – 12pm

Free/Reservation required

Ima welcomes all new parents to attend baby hour with parents at the museum. Our Visitor Engagement Team offers relaxed tours and spaces for discussion about the gallery artwork. Find your baby while relaxing and immersing in the arts, growing your imagination and creative side. The session is directed at parents with young babies who have not yet carried.

April 8th / Launch in the courtyard

May 1st / Indoor cafe opens

We are delighted to be able to introduce you to our brand new cafe, Imma! Starting April 8th, Fusion will be serving coffee, pastries and sandwiches from the courtyard coffee van and preparing an indoor cafe for a fresh new beginning. To celebrate the opening at Imma, Fultion will offer all the coffee on April 8th at an exclusive price of 1 euro for just one day. The indoor underground cafe will open on May 1st.
