Sweater weather has officially arrived! I’ll be honest: sweaters aren’t always at the top of my wish list. Instead, when the weather turns balmy, we tend to gravitate toward editorial outerwear, bold skirts, and statement boots. But recently, my way of thinking has changed! Sweaters are not only comfortable to wear, but there are many ways to add personality to your style. How to make your sweater last for years
I’ll be the first to admit that I can be strict about how I dress. And since sweaters are so delicate, they unfortunately tend to be the items that go bad most often. But over the years, I’ve gotten much better at taking care of my clothes. We do our best to keep it in like-new condition for months and even years to come. Below are three tips I use when caring for sweaters. Each one made a big difference for me.
1. Invest in a fabric shaver
Hairballs will form! And this is not necessarily a sign of low quality or bad yarn. In fact, some high-end sweaters are intentionally spun loosely, which can lead to more pilling.
