Colors, Colors, Other Colors – Mixing and Matching Shades are one of my favorite ways to make your wardrobe pop! And it seems you all love it, too, as some of my most popular posts are all about pairings of different shades. Summer is rounding the corner, so there’s no good time to try out the colours! Today I am breaking down five of my favorite clothing color combination ideas for the season, along with tips for each styling. You’ll find trendy shades, combos I personally love, and some new shades of choice that I’d like to try.

What are the rules?

When it comes to colours, I don’t think there are any right or wrong ways to combine hues. Do something that feels good you happy! Trends go back and forth. With them, the colour combos I wear may differ. However, some of my proven favorite pairs are always pink and orange, green and pink, and purple and red. Previous clothing color combination posts covered bold combos, specific color formulas, and pre-fall pairings. All of these are great for inspiration, but feel free to spin. There are no rules!

Clothing color combination tips

The key to finding the formula of colors you love and the key to working for you is to experiment… lots! Try new combos and don’t be afraid to mix things up with each season. I’ve tried a lot of pairings over the years and have covered a few tips and tricks to find the right one. Here are my top three:

1. Stick to 3 or fewer colors

This post focuses on color combinations that consist of just two shades. But in general, I try not to create a color-blocked look with more than three different shades. Don’t get me wrong – I love to wear clothes a lot Color (hello, it looks like rainbow colors these days!). But here we talk about combining solid, bold pieces to create a fun look.

2. Color Family Count

Keep the color wheel in mind when planning your outfit. Combining shades from the opposite side of the wheel, such as green or purple, create a more unpleasant, high contrast look. Try combining nearby colors, such as orange and yellow or pink and red, for a more subdued, almost monochromatic color. Neither approach is correct or wrong. They just produce very different emotions!

3. Consider the texture

Don’t forget that colour is just a part of the costume equation. To add more interest, think about how textures affect your appearance. For example, you can combine two organza pieces with a airy etheric atmosphere, or a tight, heavy tweed and dressy moir to create clothes that are full of contrast and depth. Play with mixing textures along with colors to get more style options!

I love the clothing color combo

Now that we’ve shared some tips on choosing a colour, let’s dive into the pairings that are most exciting for the summer!

Red and blue

Are there any more classic summer clothing colour combinations than red and blue? I’m afraid not! Now I especially love the traditional cherry red paired with either light blue or great teal blue. This pairing feels very refreshing!

The great news is that there are so many great pieces that do what’s combined for you right now! this Printed maxi dressthis Strapless floral dressand this gorgeous Decorated dress There are some of my favorites (similar to those sold a few years ago from the same brand). Chartreuse and crispy white
