The November Forecast – Julia Berolzheimer
SHARE

November is one of my favorite months. The air is finally feeling crisp and cool, the days are getting shorter, and everything is starting to take on the quiet, cozy atmosphere we look forward to all year long. It’s a time of year when mornings naturally start to get later, people spend more time at home, and meaningful gatherings with friends and family are sought after. It also marks the beginning of what I consider nesting season. Set the table, choose gifts, light candles and give your home a warm and festive atmosphere.

This month has a full calendar, from some exciting work moments (my birthday, a gala, co-hosting a cabana in Charleston) to preparing for Thanksgiving and the start of the holidays. I’ll be sharing my birthday wishlist, what I’m planning for my Thanksgiving table, and some items that are feeling especially good right now (soft textures, rich colors, special details).

what we are doing

  • November is my birthday monthand I’ve been dreaming up a wish list purely for fun. Because dreaming is free. Some pieces to add to your jewelry box:

  • Thanksgiving will be held This year at our house, Thomas will be in charge of the kitchen (as usual) and I will be in charge of the table. I’m interested in warm, layered textures such as:
  • This week I co-hosted a cabana in Charleston. It was such a pleasure to meet Martina, the founder of Cabana, whom I have long admired for her taste, aesthetic, and world-building with her beautiful brand.
  • And finally: Wicked 2 drops on November 21stAnd it’s already circled. I’ll be watching it with the girls in full holiday mode!

what i’m wearing

November tends to bring out the coziest, richest textures in my closet, and this month is no different. I lean toward velvets, soft knits, deep tones, and pieces that work equally well for casual days and upcoming holiday events.

what i am buying

As the holiday season approaches, I’m bookmarking everything from gifts to treats to personal wardrobe additions that strike a balance between the practical and the special.

What I’m paying attention to

This month, I’m craving pieces that are layered, moody, and have a bit of a jewel box feel to them. There are luxurious threads that keep drawing my eye: velvets, jewel tones, candlelight, and a combination of old world and playful touches.
