As a maximalist, you know that I live for a work of good statements. Recently I have been thinking about ways to move from quiet, luxurious trends to a slower pace. More and more brands are embracing bold and eye-catching styles. And personally, I’m here for that! I love how unique touches can instantly enhance simple outfits. Get a classic look with pops of animal prints, mix unexpected outfit color combinations, or layer a thick necklace over your favorite white button down. There are many ways to play and enjoy the works of the statement! For me, these fall into three categories: standout necklaces, fun sequins and unique tops. I’ll dive into each of the following, but if you’re looking to explore other seasons’ bold creations, be sure to check out my posts on Gen Z fashion trends, layered necklace 101, and green outfit ideas.
What is a statement piece?
Before diving into my current favorite standout style, I wanted to quickly get to know what the statement piece actually is. As you can imagine, these are new, unusual or unexpected items that catch your eye. Think about it: bold accessories, casual sneakers paired with dressy dresses, or impressive outfits heading for the moment you step into your room.
And these may be the first examples that pop into your mind, but don’t forget. The most basic items can become fragments of statements when you style them creatively. Maybe you throw an elegant sweater on the simple activewear look. Suddenly, the sweater becomes the focus, elevating the entire outfit. Sometimes it’s not about choosing the boldest item, but about how you wear it. It’s all styling!
My Top 3 Summer Statement Works
Summer is one of my favorite seasons to be creative with fashion. Between vibrant colours, refreshing fabrics and playful details, it’s the perfect time to enjoy standout pieces. After researching my current closet favourites, I continued to go back to the three main types of styles I’ve worn repeatedly. A bold necklace, sequins, a unique eye-catching top. Let’s jump in!
1. Statement Necklace

The stacks of jewelry and layers returned with roaring sounds. I’m here for that. I’ve been stacking up bracelets and necklaces like I did in 2013.
I recently wrote a few jewelry posts covering how to layer necklaces, my daily jewellery staples, and colorful gemstone updates. They featured a variety of styles, but today we are particularly focused on statement necklaces. Some are very large and bold that can be independent and I love pairing it with the applied pieces to create a more dinic layer look.

It seems like a big bubble necklace is popping up more and more. They usually sit near their necks, so I think they look best in strapless styles or with open necklines. And if you really play your cards correctly, you can find a neckline top or dress that perfectly mimics the shape of the necklace – it’s a very fun way to make a statement (when done correctly).
There are a wide range of bubble necklaces in all kinds of price ranges. Included in my current favourites This super large one And this colorful thing.
