In the world of sports, Esports has exploded into a legitimate contender, rapidly growing from a niche field to a mainstream force with viewers and participants around the world. EA (Electronic Arts) in particular has become an industry giant in digital interactive entertainment, with the highest number of game downloads on PC and consoles of any video game publisher last year. As head of EA’s Esports division, Monica Dinsmore has steered the division’s rapid growth and driven record-breaking engagement across the EA Sports brand.

But before Dinsmore became a trailblazer in the competitive gaming world, she began her career in technology during the dot-com boom of the late 1990s, immersing herself in the fast-paced startup environment. She then moved into the financial industry, where she devoted nearly 15 years. However, an early yearning for a dynamic and innovative culture prompted a bold move into gaming.

Dinsmore first joined Riot Games to build an award-winning team that oversees PR, communications, marketing and other functions for League of Legends Esports in Europe. Now, as Head of Esports at EA, Dinsmore has steered and led the male-dominated esports landscape, breaking down barriers and setting new standards for growth and inclusion.
