While I consider myself a maximalist and have an infinite appreciation (and a little envy) of Parisian dressing, there’s something about Scandinavian style that tickles my brain. If, like me, you’re into bold prints, pops of color, and statement silhouettes, Copenhagen Fashion Week is a feast for the eyes.
The key to Scandinavian style is the balance between function and fashion. Practical pieces such as tailoring, knitwear and outerwear form the foundation, offset by statement elements that inject individuality. For Spring/Summer 2026, that balance was on full display across Copenhagen, with outfits combining bold Dalmatian prints with denim, pops of red and pastel hues with outerwear, and puff, balloon and barrel silhouettes with tailoring.
If you’re reading this and it doesn’t sound like you, don’t worry. Because I’ve scoured the runways and streets of Copenhagen to analyze five outfits you can add to your spring wardrobe. Please read before shopping.
5 outfits for Scandinavian women in Spring 2026
1. Animal print jacket + suede pants + pointy boots
Style notes: Animal print has always been a staple of Scandinavian fashion, but this season the classic has given way to a new print that’s captivating us all: Dalmatian print. It’s easy to see why it pleases so many people. It’s monochromatic and speaks to polka dot fans everywhere, as it leans towards the graphic side of the animal prints (cows, Bambi, etc.) that we’re gravitating toward right now. This print will never shrink. Dalmatians are at their best when worn as a statement, such as a jacket, full-length coat, or oversized tote bag. So let’s make a bold claim.

2. Suede jacket + V-neck knit + jeans
Style notes: Snake is also an interesting print that Scandinavian girls style very well. Pale snake prints, typically used on shoes and bags, can add interest to bright washes of denim and pair very well with neutral textures such as knits and suedes. The trick is to take advantage of the soft tones of the print and complement it with similar tones as wardrobe staples. If you’re not ready to opt for snake jeans yet, go for white.

3. Barn jacket + column skirt + knee-high boots
Style notes: The barn jacket has gone from a utilitarian staple to the season’s coolest outerwear, and one look across the pond will tell you everything you need to know to incorporate it into your spring wardrobe. The waxed body and stiffness of the collar details make it the perfect partner for column pencil skirts. It has a utilitarian vibe, but can be edgy with statement sunglasses and chunky flat knee-high boots.

4. Leather jacket + checked shirt + white jeans
Style notes: Last summer we had silk scarves, and in spring 2026 plaid shirts will be known as belt accessories. Its fluidity when worn breaks up the rigidity of an outfit, creating a layered effect, adding a new dimension to jeans and trousers, and contrasting well with leather jackets.

5. Blazer + balloon pants + pointed mules
Style notes: @johannarager shows you how to play with the Scandinavian silhouette by pairing a cinched blazer with balloon pants. Pants add volume and playfulness without falling into the silly, and are refined with the addition of sleek pointy mules. I can’t wait to try this.
