Embarking on a content creation journey can mix and navigate excitement, learning and these inevitable ups and downs. This week’s Plus Size Fashion Influencer Spotlight dives into the world of Rah Gibbs, a dynamic creator who started her pass four years ago, embracing her unique plus size style. Her early days were finding her lanes and discovering how a genuine approach to fashion resonated with others.
Ra’s journey into the world of digital influence began about four years ago. Her path began as a content creator before she naturally transformed into the role of influencer.
“I started writing content about four years ago and it became a kind of influencer. The journey was fun. It definitely had ups and downs.
Rah came through direct feedback from her growing audience when she realized her efforts were resonating and having a tangible impact.
“The moment I realized that the content was affecting me was when I started getting my inbox/DMS. I started getting positive feedback on how I put together my confidence and outfit.”
Rah’s motivation to continue creating and displaying online stems from the understanding that she currently has a dedicated audience. This connection promotes her drive and allows her to consistently share her unique fashion perspective. Her personal style is a vibrant tapestry, reflecting her adventurous approach to dressing. She explains aesthetics in five words.
“Multipurpose, bold, trendy, sporty, chic.”
This fusion of influences is attributed to the importance of RAH to close families.
“I have to say my brother has influenced a lot of my style. He has been stylish since the ’80s, so when I grew up I saw him and I knew about designers, patterns, how to match styles, how to wear the right accessories.
Rah Gibbs: Champion Style Inclusion for Plus Size Fashion Influencers
Beyond personal style, Rah is actively using the platform as a plus-size fashion influencer and model to challenge general beauty standards and promote greater inclusion in the fashion industry. Her first-time experience sheds light on the ongoing struggles faced by plus-size models and consumers.
“We struggle with every New York Fashion Week cast on the runway because there aren’t enough designers willing to create the look of a plus-size model.”
This candid insight highlights the need for more designers to adopt size diversity in their runways and collections to promote truly inclusive plus-size styles. RAH has a clear message for brands looking to better serve plus-sized consumers.
“We hope that by expanding sizes in the plus fashion world, more brands take risks. We also learned that sizes are not based on European sizes, as brands need to hire accurate fit models.”
This illustrates an important area for improvement. Enlarging the size range and ensuring clothing is designed for the actual percentage of plus-sized bodies beyond the general size conversion.
RAH offers practical advice on perfecting your plus size style. Her top-style hacks emphasize the conversion power of the perfect fit.
“Change your clothes, because the curves don’t fit everything perfectly on our bodies. Sometimes we have to size up, things are too big or don’t have the right appearance.
To instantly improve your confidence, Rah is directed at thoughtful additional forces.
“Accessories are my friends. I love hats, eyewear, jewelry and bags. Those simple things can perfectly complement your clothes. Wearing a pair of shades makes you instantly go into diva mode,” laughed Rah.
Her biggest personal style pet peeve? “If you buy what I see online and then try it, it doesn’t do anything for me,” the sentiment associated with many shoppers.
When it comes to feeling unstoppable, Ra discovers her powers in camouflage, an unexpected print. She said, “I’m obsessed with camouflage and can wear camouflage up and down. You can use any color.
In the case of RAH, the impact is defined by its ability to produce concrete change.
“I define influence as affecting someone or something and show people that they can give it a try.”
RAH has an exciting agenda in the future. She recently concluded her eighth runway fashion show in the first half of the year. This summer, her focus shifted to “content creation and brand collaboration, and preparing for the Full Figure Industry Awards Show (TheFFAS) held in NYC in November 2025,” and was nominated in two categories. She is also actively pursuing “where we can start working more as models such as print ads and becoming branded fit models.”
Ultimately, Rah hopes her followers will get a clear message from her platform.
“The message I want to see for people away from my page is that I am a normal person who is confident in the body I am in. I promote physical positivity. I love enjoying fashion. I love modeling the runway and creating content for everyone.”
Rah Gibbs is the power of the plus-size fashion influencer space, inspiring others through her authentic self-confidence, versatile plus-size style and unwavering advocacy for inclusivity. Her journey reminds everyone that fashion is a tool of self-expression and empowerment that everyone has access to.
