Coined for the 4th annual West Coast Met Gala academy museum gala It was star-studded, with Hollywood’s brightest celebrities showing off their red carpet style in the most amazing ways.
The fundraiser, held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, supports the organization’s film exhibits and public programs.
Skims founder Kim Kardashian exuded cleanliness and purity in a pure white Thierry Mugler corset paired with a long-sleeved maxi jacket that fell off the shoulders. Her transparent heels were Cinderella-like and her Tiffany necklace was encrusted with the finest jewels.
Kim wasn’t the only member of the Kardashian family in attendance, her sisters Kendall and Kylie were also on site. Kylie, who often channels Kim, also chose designer Thierry Mugler. Wearing a nude sequined transparent top, Kylie exuded sex appeal with a dress that cut out at the hips.
In contrast to Mugler, the supermodel of the family, Kendall Jenner looked like the star of her class in a very understated and cute black Schiaparelli dress.
Sheryl Lee Ralph, known for her amazing awards speeches, wore a cream-colored strapless Sophie Couture dress that accentuated her curves and looked incredibly beautiful for the 67-year-old actress.
Ralph wasn’t the only one showing off her curves, Taraji P. Henson was also the featured star of the night in a gold sequined Tamara Ralph dress. Henson’s dress, which was strapless and featured a plunging line with a deep V-neck, felt like:I’m coming out and I want the world to know.” (in Diana Ross voice).
Ava DuVernay and Da’Vine Joy both wore Louis Vuitton to the Academy Museum Gala, with DuVernay looking sizzling in a red draped maxi dress with a cowneck bodice.
Known for her exaggerated silhouettes, Joy took us back to the 19th century with a caged crinoline that held the cylindrical shape of the gown together.
Bringing the runway reality to the gala was none other than Kerry Washington. She chose a black and white Carolina Herrera dress with a floral print. We have to admit, Washington looked amazing and dynamite in this white and black dress.
Giving a different take on black and white was Quinta Brunson, who wore a strapless houndstooth dress that was on trend for the fall season. Perhaps some people think that Carolina Herrera has arrived at Chanel, but just like Kerry Washington, Carolina Herrera also appreciates this extraordinary style.
Representing the fashionable men were Coleman Domingo and Dwyane Wade, along with their wife Gabrielle Union. Domingo, who has become famous for his fashion sense and will co-chair the 2025 Met Gala, wore Valentino.
A black suit jacket tied at the waist and red Valentino pants were the moment. If you look closely, you can see that his black lace gloves are layered with diamond rings and bracelets, giving him a fashionable look. We can only imagine what he’ll wear to the Met Gala in May 2025.
Wade also wore a double-breasted suit with a silver-decorated pen, paired with tapered pants. His wife was the perfect arm candy in a midnight purple sequined Elie Saab dress, giving us goddess vibes. Gabby’s Tiffany jewelry looked regal against her radiant complexion, and she and Dwayne looked like the perfect fashion duo.
