The Bowery Ballroom was the setting for Cucculelli Shaheen’s latest collection, ‘Electric Cosmos’. Guests were treated to live band music while watching quirky and wonderful dresses and separates walk down the runway.
The collection TwentyTwo has been described as a twist on Art Deco mysticism and baroque glam rock, weaving mystical sunsets, night creatures, cosmic dancers and Martian ballrooms into a richly imaginative fashion world. The setting was intimate yet theatrical, with models weaving through the crowd under mirrored disco balls and dramatic lighting, enhancing the collection’s sacred atmosphere.
Gold reigned supreme. Nude-sheer dresses adorned with shimmering beaded constellations flowed down the runway, their surfaces glowing like incandescent myths under the stage lights. One standout piece featured a plunging neckline and delicate starburst embroidery sprinkled across the barely-there silhouette, paired with matching embellished gloves that added to the cosmic dancer theme.

Emerald tones provided a grounded counterpoint. The moss green velvet suit, with its structured jacket, high-waisted trousers and ornate metallic appliqué detailing, recalls baroque glam rock with a modern edge. The look was styled with statement gold earrings, reinforcing the collection’s mysterious, almost regal energy. Flowing chartreuse dresses with fluted sleeves and deep slits moved dramatically with each step, conjuring images of night lilies and Salfumeur illuminated by green light.

Antique gold and bronze metallic gowns brought the ballroom Mars concept to life. Corseted bodices flowed into voluminous skirts that caught the light with each movement, while arm cuffs and vine-like embellishments wrapped around the models’ arms like cosmic armor. The striking ombré dress faded from deep indigo to violet to sunset peach and was studded with crystal constellations that reflected the galaxy at dusk.

A silver sequined column dress adorned with a swirling bead pattern was reminiscent of Art Deco geometry, while sheer overlays and elongated gloves added to the theatrical appeal. The balance of structure and fluidity, tailored velvet against liquid metallics and airy mesh, created a multidimensional story that felt both vintage and futuristic.

Electric Cosmos was immersive, dramatic, and unapologetically gorgeous. Kukruli Shaheen transformed the Bowery Ballroom into a celestial dreamscape of glam rock and mysticism, where every look shimmered with purpose.
