Dalog Wine Bar (Irishman of “little oak tree”) offers a unique wine and dining experience that highlights organic and biodynamic wines that are thoughtfully combined with seasonal cuisine. Opened in July 2023 by the couple’s teams Zsolt Lukács and Edel McMahon-Lukács, Daróg has quickly become known for its commitment to sustainability, quality and community.
In 2025, Dalog Wine Bar was awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide, recognising its outstanding cuisine with great value. A sommelier with 12 years of experience in Michelin-starred Ania Restaurants, Zsolt received the Sommelier Award at the Michelin Guide 2025.
Above Wednesday, September 3rdDalog will present wine Thorsten Mersheimer of Weingut Melsheimera fifth generation property in the Mosel Valley known for its vibrant Riesling and sustainable agricultural practices. This intimate event will include a guided tasting of five wines and a conversation with WineMaker. As he took over the family’s real estate in the early 1990s, Thorsten has worked with a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic cultivation. Farming some of Mosel’s steepest slate slopes (including the famous Railer Mrei Hofberg Vineyard), he lives in character and produces wines shaped by nature-driven philosophy.
Guests will explore the impacts of soil, slopes and sustainability through each glass, hear directly from Thorsten about his journey from traditional agriculture to becoming a local benchmark producer.
