The superstar models of my youth graced the covers of major magazines and walked in many shows. Older actresses also do walking shows and appear in advertisements. wonderful. largely. These older models and actresses are constantly commented on how healthy and youthful they look, belying their age.

I’m a “mature” large model and in a conversation with my agent… ford model When I came to New York, I realized I was the only one in North America.

Again, I’m the only one.
And I don’t have any reservations.

I’m glad I didn’t get booked because another model would fit the casting brief better, but that’s just me. So if there was a casting brief, I would be the only one to choose from. Virtually no casting brief exists that is suitable for mature, large models.

why?

There may be an issue here of women at the top, specifically women in charge of the fashion business.

A big and voluptuous young body is great, but a big and voluptuous old body has a secret suspicion that it makes you look old. let go. Not attractive. Maybe It’s a little embarrassing.

Being older and bigger seems to run up against the unhealthy stereotypes we were raised with, the unconsciously ingrained, generationally exhausted anorexic aesthetics of heroin chic.

I think these stereotypes are so deeply ingrained that we (old women) are unable to see ourselves with the same grace and empathy that we see others. Rather, we mourn our aging bodies and lost youth. And my colleague is actually in charge of the fashion world.

The fashion industry has the power to show our daughters and granddaughters that true grace and beauty can exist for women as they age.

We have a moral obligation to prove that being beautiful as we age comes in all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and quirks, just as it did when we were young.

It’s time for the old women at the top to wake up, show empathy to themselves first, and then fight to use their power to benefit the rest of us in the interests of our culture. I think so. Write an overview of the cast. Let’s start with New York Fashion Week.

For our culture to be healthy, we need to see a variety of authentic role models on aging.
