Plus-size photographer herself, Lydia filmed some of the game’s most stylish and influential plus-size figures. And now she is directing her lens to a wider, more intentional purpose.

What is being made plus So innovative?
It’s not just a model (a mix of familiar faces and exciting new talent), impressive styling, or thin Front of these images. That’s the energy behind it all. Every frame challenges what fashion deemed historically beautiful. It is a curated piece that flows like a conversation. Sometimes quiet, sometimes noisy, always powerful.
“Casting was a very important part of the book,” explains Hudgens. “I wanted a balance. I had some recognizable faces and some new talent. That wasn’t much about independent hero shots, but about building visual conversations.”
Filmed primarily in the studio, the book looks intimately at plus-size fashion through a raw, emotional and editorial lens. “The first shoot I did plus I was with my longtime collaborator and friend Denka,” she recalls. “I actually started crying halfway through, striking me with how important my work is and how proud I am of what we are making.”
It was seen in the real world and was celebrated vigorously

Do not use words like “confidence” as a shield [plus size models] With the same respect and creative investment, you will give to someone else. ”

It makes us face the fact that we are not given space to our bodies outside the norm, and boldly carve new things. “Plus-sized bodies aren’t trending. They’re part of fashion, part of art, part of culture,” says Hudgens. “I hope this book will help create space, challenge awareness and help people to see more.”
From intense portraits to quiet moments of vulnerability, plus Redefine how beauty, fashion and identity intersect. And as the industry continues to backslide into size inclusion, the book feels like both a call to action and a lifeline.
