It’s hard to believe we’re already interested in February. We were a little late as it appears to have been flying a few weeks and wanted to look back at last winter’s newsletter.

Your support brightened Ben’s Christmas
Thanks to your incredible generosity, Christmas has been a time of hope and healing for Ben and his family.
Last year, Ben faced a holiday season full of uncertainty. Living away from his parents and tackling the stress of family difficulties, he struggled to see the magic of Christmas. But with your help, Barnardos was able to provide the support Ben and his family desperately needed.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Ben worked closely with project worker Diarmuid in a calm family room. With time and patience, Ben began to open up, sharing his experiences and learning how to express his emotions.
E had presents and decorations under the tree, brightening up the day. Most importantly, Ben spent meaningful time with his family, including visits from his parents. For Ben, this Christmas brought the happiness and connection moment he always remembers.
Your kindness puts Ben and his family on a hopeful trajectory. As they continue to work with Barnaldo, they are taking a step towards a brighter, more stable future.
Why you like you means everything to us
In 2023, Barnardos provided important support to more than 26,000 vulnerable children and families across Ireland, up 25% from the previous year. Important work has been implemented to support these families facing challenges in poverty, adversity and mental health struggles. This job would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of donors like you.
