January Forecast – Julia Berolzheimer

Happy 2026! The transition to a new year always feels momentous on paper, but then January 1st rolls around and it looks a lot like the day before. I woke up feeling a little overwhelmed, as if I was expecting the calendar to do more of the heavy lifting. Of course not. Actual changes tend to be quieter than countdowns.

Still, when we look back at January 1, 2025 and January 1, 2026, the difference is undeniable. Gradually and deliberately, many things have moved forward. They require consistency, attentiveness, and a willingness to continually show up even when progress is subtle.

There’s a lot we’re excited to build this year, with a clear focus on this community. We are not interested in simply doing more. We are far more focused on doing better and making sure that what we share truly adds something to your day, your closet, your home, and your thoughts. Over the past few months, we’ve been clarifying our perspective on why we share, what we share, and what we hope it provides for you. Whether it’s blogging, Substack, paid subscriber chats and posts, newsletters, or Instagram, the goal is to feel worth your time: thoughtful, informative, and sometimes surprising in the best possible way.

So, I’d like to introduce you to what’s happening this month, what I’m wearing, what I’m buying, and what I’m paying attention to.

what we are doing

• We’re hosting our first-ever style challenge in paid subscriber chat. Although intentionally simple, the prompts are designed to spark fresh ideas and make getting dressed feel interesting again. Join us for a smart reset this month.
• This month is Goldie’s birthday month and the fact that she’s turning 4 really hits home. She steps completely into girl territory with strong opinions and gentle confidence, and I love every part of it. She requested a princess tea party, so it’s a princess tea party.
• It’s been a while since all my siblings will be together, so I’m counting down the days.
• Thomas and I are heading to Palm Heights later this month for a quick getaway without the kids. This Grand Cayman hotel had been on our list for a while and we finally booked it after a friend raved about it. I’m excited about the warm air, long swims, and uninterrupted conversation.
• I am planning to go on a work trip with a group of women at the end of the month. The last one was so clarifying and energizing that I look forward to stepping away from my daily routine and getting back to that kind of interaction, even if it’s just for 48 hours.
• I really want to go see it Marty Supreme.

• I’m really looking forward to seeing Mathieu Blazy’s Chanel collection unfold. Currently on my wishlist:
• mark davis jewelry– I love the color and sculptural feel of his bangles.
• Tarita Hamaoui The art stopped me mid-scroll.
• coat This is very close to Chanel (still expensive, but not quite $10,000).
• Saved almost every room this houseAnd now I’m considering animal print for the room I’m working on this year.
• I have never done nail art, but morning in this.

I love the French brand Molli and this new set (top & skirt) That’s exactly me.
