Anna Paulina Luna was a model and influencer when she crossed her path with Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA in the mid-2010s. In a short order, she was the director of the Hispanic Outreach group and was a US lawmaker in 2023. Speaking to Dan Adler on Tuesday following Kirk’s murder, Luna explained her rise on social media and how Kirk, the far-right figure whose controversy and attention is a product, helped her learn to use the media. “Charlie taught me how to make it faster,” Luna told Adler. The genre was old fashioned (Ben Shapiro, Dinesh Douza), but Kirk achieved a new level of infamy due to the serial consistency of his online output. In his portrayal, the young left was rootless, flimsy, decadent and miserable, in contrast to his smirk orders. Its ease was evident in even his most provocative position and rhetoric. The rape could not justify abortion. Kamala Harris was a “day candidate.” The idea of the Muslim mayor, who leads both London and New York, never “feels right.”
