Glow Like You Were Painted by Esther Herself

What do Olandria Carsan, Coco Jones, and Kelly Rowland have in common? They’re all drawn into the colorful world of Esther “Painted by Esther” Ngozi Edeme. Her under-eye blush technique has gone viral, filling timelines full of swatches of pink, coral, berry, and peach. This technique gives you a divine goddess aesthetic that you’ll want to repeat every time. Applying blush under your eyes lifts your face, awakens your look, and creates a soft pop of color that’s not embarrassing.

It’s a trend that makes blush blindness feel right again. The moment you immerse yourself in the product again, even though you swore it was over. You add a little bit and then you look in the mirror and think, “Wait, this might be my new personality.”

For years, women of color like me have been told that blush doesn’t belong in your makeup bag and that certain shades only work on certain undertones. This trend proves that idea to be complete nonsense.

Esther often chooses cream blushes because they blend into the skin and blend easily. If you’re more comfortable with powder, spray a little setting spray before dipping your brush. This softens the edges and helps the color sit on the skin instead of floating on it.

Mirix said. swimsuit magazine “The placement of blush is much more playful now,” she says, adding that she loves how red blush looks beautiful on all skin tones.

In fact, you can use the undertones as a guide if you want, but you don’t have to. Warm peach, soft rose, deep berry, and bright coral work across the spectrum when blended with intention. Fall is also the perfect time to dip into cranberries, charred peaches, and rosewood. These shades pair well with brown liner, glossy lips, and soft smoky eyes.

If you want a daytime version, dab with your fingers and blend until the color looks like it’s coming out of your skin. If you want something more dramatic, use a dark blush brush and layer until the color is bold. If you add too much, blend it in with a damp sponge and keep moving.

The benefit of applying blush under your eyes is that it can be tailored to your natural structure. If you have a round face, pulling the color slightly outward will create a lifted look. The angular surface fits snugly to create a comfortable flash. There are no fixes. There is only reinforcement.

Here are five blushes to brighten up this look, as well as tips for customizing your placement. So you can get the Painted by Esther look and blush towards whatever feels good.
