This Halloween weekend marks you in a world where Japanese legends and Irish culture unite: Quidan.
This unique event, which will premiere around the world at Osaka’s Expo 2025, presents the iconic Japanese film QuidanBased on four LafcadiohearnThe beloved ghost story with a specially commissioned new live score, Matthew Nolan and Seán MacErlaineaccompanied by Japanese musicians Tomoko Souvenir. In addition to films and scores, the acclaimed actors Connor Lovett (Gare St Lazare Ireland) performs traditional Japanese-style narration. Jude Hegerty Lovett (Gare St. Lazareth Ireland).

Songs of the Spirits: East Meets West
This performance inspired by the ancient rituals of Oíche Shamhna and the Japanese Obon Festival Shora Hibernia It explores and celebrates the universal human desire to honor and remember the dead.
Following its Osaka premiere at Expo 2025, Dublin audiences are invited to experience the ethereal beauty of the tradition of Japanese choir woven together by Gregorian chants, Irish songs and some of Ireland’s most acclaimed vocalists.
