Just returned from an amazing visit to Paris. There’s nothing quite like the City of Autumn Lights. Summer crowds are thinner, temperatures are perfect for bonding, and everything feels cozy. I’m planning on putting together a little Paris travel guide in the near future. But in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to talk about what to wear in Paris in the fall (hint, that includes lots of sweaters!) Today I’ll be talking about what to consider when packing, my We’re talking about must-have items. , and Parisian outfit ideas for various activities in the city.
Things to consider when packing
Paris in autumn is even more attractive, so if you have a chance to visit, be sure to visit. However, there are some things to consider when packing. When choosing my Paris attire, I tried to keep these four facts in mind:
1. Let’s start with your luggage.
The first step in deciding what to wear in Paris is deciding whether to check your bag or carry-on. To be honest, I always check my bag. However, if you want to minimize the number of clothes you bring, consider following a color story. This makes it easy to mix and match!
Another way to reduce your load is to limit yourself to only three pieces of footwear (two to stash and one to wear). Make sure all three serve different purposes for your trip. In short, you’ll need a really casual and comfortable pair that you can walk for miles, a neutral pair that can be dressed up or down, and a dressy pair of shoes or boots. If you plan on enjoying a fancy restaurant, you may want to choose dressier shoes. Also, if you bring boots, make sure they can be easily stored and worn with comfortable airport attire on the day of your trip.
2. It rains a lot in autumn.
Autumn, especially November, is one of the rainiest seasons in Paris. It’s important to keep this in mind when choosing your travel outerwear and footwear. But apparently it rained for a week straight before we arrived.
3. It’s cold.
Paris can get pretty cold at this time of year, especially in the early mornings and late nights. It is not uncommon for temperatures to drop to nearly 40 degrees. However, deciding what to wear in Paris in autumn can be difficult, as it can get quite hot during the day.
I’ve found that the key to staying comfortable in this kind of weather is to dress in layers. My recommendation is to pack several sweaters of different weights. I also start my day with a thick coat, but it’s not too bulky so I don’t have to worry about carrying it around when it gets warmer. 4. There is not much sunlight at this time of year.
This won’t have a big impact on planning your Paris outfit, but it can affect your daily schedule. During the trip, it got dark around 4 or 4:30 pm, and unfortunately we couldn’t see much of the sun. If you’re planning a visit to a museum with gardens or a particular park, it’s best to plan it during daylight hours to get as much sunlight as possible to enjoy it all.

My biggest advice when packing shoes for travel is to never pack shoes you haven’t worn before. Shoes take up a lot of space in your bag. An uncomfortable pair really sucks, even if you’re not walking very far. That’s why I always like to pack whatever style I have in mind. know It’s comfortable.

What to wear when visiting museums
The museums in town are truly amazing. Please check it out when you visit must. For this activity, choose a comfortable yet put together look.
