Emily Ratajkowski Just Copied an Iconic Carrie Bradshaw Look with Trainers

As New Yorkers, socialites, and fashion insiders, Carrie Bradshaw and Emily Ratajkowski clearly have a lot in common: the former may be a fictional character, but her influence on style is undeniable, while the latter, as far as I can tell, is adept at ushering in new trends in the real world.

While both models are known for their distinctive fashion sense, Ratajkowski may have been inspired by the eternal queen of New York style this week when she stepped out in a dress that bore a striking resemblance to one of Carrie Bradshaw’s most iconic looks.

Ratajkowski’s look, paired with a skintight grey minidress, black sneakers (something Bradshaw would never wear), and a matching shoulder bag, was ’90s minimalism at its chicest. Just like the grey minidress Bradshaw sang for in Season 2, Episode 15, the dress was form-fitting, creating a relaxed yet sexy silhouette that will never lose its appeal.

Ratajkowski further modernized the dress, pairing it with oversized black sunglasses, a gold necklace and small silver hoops for an understated finish.

Ratajkowski got more Bradshaw vibes, and was spotted stepping out later that night in the same grey minidress with strappy heels.

This isn’t the first time fashionistas have recreated the iconic look: Kendall Jenner wore a grey minidress by Australian brand Saint Agni between appointments in Paris last year. While Jenner copied Bradshaw’s iconic look with strappy heeled sandals, Ratajkowski’s outfit with relaxed sneakers proves that the dress is even more versatile than first thought.
