ELY is located in Ely Place, Dublin 2, in the heart of Dublin’s business district, just off Dáil Éireann on Merrion Street. Founded in 1999 by Erik and Michelle Robson as a wine bar, ELY was a rarity in Dublin city at the time. Although it isn’t as prominent as it is today, ELY stood out with its fantastic menu, mainly organic food, and a great selection of wines by the glass.
Although numerous wine bars have opened in Dublin since 1999, ELY was one of the first to offer premium wines and quickly gained a very loyal following. The establishment quickly became the go-to wine bar for a generation of working Dublin residents.
