You can easily argue that any shoe color goes well with blue jeans. While this may be true, I think certain types of denim really take denim to the next level. Of course, you can’t go wrong with pairing denim with black, white, or red shoes. Everyone is all about chocolate brown and burgundy these days, but the shoe colors worn by Elsa Hosk are a little different. While walking around LA wearing a Valentino leopard-print coat and blue jeans, Hosk chose an unexpected shoe color. It was Cognac, specifically the Cognac leather pumps from The Row. And as you can see in the photo below, the warm tones of cognac contrast beautifully with the cool blue denim.
I don’t know about you, but a year ago at this time, I wasn’t thinking much about Cognac Brown. Like many people, the chocolate brown trend took up most of my brain space, but cognac, a medium brown that sits between camel and espresso on the color wheel, wasn’t a color I saw very often. That said, it’s slowly starting to regain its relevance, with ever-popular brands like The Row, Miu Miu, and Reformation doubling down on the brand with their Winter 2025 shoe lineups. Not only that, Hosk is an authority on shoe color trends (and everything else fashion-related).
Keep scrolling to see how blue jeans and cognac shoes pair perfectly, and if Hosk convinces you to invest in a pair, buy the cognac brown shoes to add to your collection.
