With a large part of the world adapting to hybrid work schedules and more people working outside of typical offices than ever before, there appears to be romanticism about what they once were. Suddenly, office wear, business casual, or formal accessories would be desirable? Naturally, people don’t actually wear it in the office either.
This past fashion month will be from St. Laurent to Kalmeyer, Calvin Klein, Sergio Hudson, Hermes and Ferrari to Co. They wore ties and loafers. They carried the top handle bags in a sense of urgency, as if trampling on Wall Street. There was nothing experimental or destructive about it. The designers felt that office dressing was drawing inspiration for a slightly more or less change in the work ecosystem of the past. And while the office is by no means outdated, most hybrid schedules are no longer flexible, they don’t feel like they used to be. And perhaps never will.

It was removed from the office dressing, as we once knew, so we can now see it from a different perspective. It doesn’t feel like something you have to wear anymore, so it’s quickly what you actually want to wear.

If you’re wondering if you’re wearing a shirt with a built-in tie, or if you’re not under pressure to fit any type, or if you’re breaking a dress code that’s not spoken to, it’s fun to carry around a top handle bag that’s nothing important. Fake office outfits in everyday life are more fun and guaranteed to see more in 2025.
