Welcome to another article in Color Story! Today I’m focusing on one of my favorite summer combinations: red and turquoise. Why do these colors work well together? To get started, they sit facing each other on the colour wheel, creating a balance. Red is a warm primary colour, while turquoise is a blue/green mixture that is cool and refreshing. That contrast enhances visual pop when paired. You love me good pop! It also has psychological appeal. Red is a strong colour that stands for passion, but turquoise is known to be soothing and more worn in creative sets. Together, they create a colour story of equal parts that are energy and calm, very energetic, without being overwhelmed.
