Day 1 of Essence Fest felt like a reunion where you reconnect with the familiar faces and cultural icons that shaped your world. We started the weekend with a brunch hosted by Bevy Smith and H&M. Guests like TishaCampbell and Living Single Stars’ Erika Alexander and Kim Coles played singles who just launched a new podcast. It was a Full Sacred moment that reminded me why the show still resonated.

Shows like single living rooms were more than just entertaining. They showed what was possible. Viewing confident, career-driven black women on screen helped shape my vision and in many ways inspired my move to New York and the creation of a fashion bomb every day. Such visibility is important. It plantes seeds and opens the door.

After brunch I stopped by the convention center, explored the booth and took style. One outstanding thing was Kamille Rose Natural. Their setup was beautiful and the product line was just as impressive. It is a clean texture, clean materials, and a strong sense of identity. Stop by today for free samples and $10 products throughout the weekend!

It was a great example of what makes Essence Fest unique. It is a space where culture and commerce meet on our terms.

I’m heading out to New Orleans again today. bwt good hair Wig, say hello. Essence Fest is just beginning and energy is unparalleled.
