Backstage Club is coming and more!

Did you get tickets to the annual Backstage Club fundraiser on July 9th?
If not, here are five reasons…
1) It’s fun – there are cocktails, shows, behind the scenes, cabarets!
2) It supports an incredible cause creating scholarships for students in Stage Management & Technical Theatre.
3) You can pay in installments via Klarna for 50 euros a month for 3 months
4) Walden It’s sold out so this might be your only chance to see it!
5) Our cabaret features the incredible talents of our staff, students and alumni. I’ve grown my roof over the past two years!
6) We said 5, but we can’t help with this… If you’re at the door with us, you don’t need to put your hands in your pocket for the night – just welcome you!

Please join July 9th from 6:30pm Walden or You’re old July 9th. Tickets are 150 euros and all profits are directed to supporting stage management & technical theatre students through scholarships. Take friends, family or co-workers with you to have a great evening at LIR Academy.

After a great run Gundog There are still a few final Simon Longman tickets left, so there are two more Gradfest 2025 shows! GradFest is performed by MFA directors, designers and producers, performed by undergraduates and served as the crew. This year’s GradFest features his first MFA job as a theatre production student.

Professor Brian Singleton, Chair of Drama and Theatre and LIR Academy Academic Director Samuel Beckett, is retiring later this summer.

To celebrate Brian’s leadership and the impact on many of the LIR Academy’s students and staff, we came together to celebrate the past 15 years of bringing the LIR Academy to where it is today. Congratulations on a wonderful afternoon of memories and music. Thank you to all the students who contributed.

Brian is the visionary guide to shaping LIR, the Academy of Dramatic Arts at Trinity College, Dublin, and it was his dedication that built himself to be the success we are today.

Spotlight Award 2025

We are so delighted and proud of Molly McFadden, selected as one of 22 finalists to perform as part of the 2025 Spotlight Awards! Molly will perform London’s Spotlight Awards Showcase Thane London on Wednesday, July 2nd in front of specially invited viewers of casting directors, agents, producers, directors and actors.

You can tune it to live streaming performances on Wednesday, July 2nd at 7:30pm BST.

  • Please contact us for payment links (if there is no one on the website)

  • When choosing a payment method – choose Klarna

Puppet show performance workshop
Course starts: July 12th and 13th (weekend)
Period: 10am to 5pm
Puppeteer performances are weekend courses that explore some of the multiple forms of puppeteer used throughout the theatre and filmed productions. Explore the basic techniques used to animate hands, objects, rods, table tops, moving mouths and banrak styles, and dolls.

Intensive musical theatre
Course starts: July 28th
Duration: 10am to 5pm, 2 weeks
In this two-week course, students will work with singing tutors/music directors, core LIR teachers, leading musical theatre directors and choreographers to develop acting, voice, exercise, singing and dance skills.

Summer acting camp
The course begins: July 14th / August 28th
Period: 10am to 2pm, 1 week
This summer course will be held in August and designed for young actors aged 13-15, and will have a passionate interest in performance and hope to start acting training early. Experience the theatre academy environment with Core LIR Academy Tutors

Young people ensemble
Course starts: September 27th
Duration: 10am – 4:30pm, Saturday
Youth Ensemble is a 6-month drama class program aimed at young people. It is taught by leading experts. Many also teach the Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre and Bachelor’s Degrees in the Undergraduate Acting Program at LIR Academy.
