Another beloved Plus Size store has announced it has closed its doors. Arula (formerly known as the Beautiful Soul) announced on May 29, 2025 that they would be closing. Arula was a sister store of Altar’d State, selling women’s plus-sized clothing, shoes and accessories, while Altar’d State only sold straight sizes.

The closure of Arula is a major blow as their style brought more freedom towards the end of their operation. Plus, they have been around for years and showcase styles that everyone worships. The store changed its name to Arula, just four years ago, in 2021, when the brand was rebranded. It was an era of hope and excitement for the brand’s future.

In a statement issued by the brand on May 29th, it reads as follows:

“Seven years later, we made the extremely difficult decision to end Arula. We are grateful for all the attempts, every tagged photo, every kind of words, and every moment you have made us a part of your life.

The brand never announced the exact reason for Allura’s closure, but many shoppers believed it was for financial reasons. Arula only has several physical shopping locations and has done most of the business through online sales.

Arula also deleted all social media, Website It is currently active. Sales began with the remaining items, but have yet to reach a significant deal.

Alra's closure

It’s sad to see another beloved plus size store holidays, but if you’re looking at something specific in Arula, this is the perfect time to win it.
