Over the past year, we’ve seen a flurry of unlikely pants trends making a comeback after a long hiatus. To name a few examples: cigarette pants, skinny jeansand capri pants (These are all trends for slim-fit pants, we might add.) But there’s a new trend that deserves its share of the spotlight. Anya Taylor-Joy seems to think so too. While attending the F1 Japanese Grand Prix over the weekend, Taylor-Joy Inspired by Y2K This look incorporates low-rise bootcut pants, an edgy and cool pants trend that’s officially back.
Her leather pants were by Frame and she paired them with a vintage contrast stitch multicolor top from Jean Paul Gaultier’s 1991 collection. She accessorized with Jimmy Fairey sunglasses and stepped onto the tracks in bright red heeled sandals. This expression gave me charlie’s angelsIMHO. It was edgy, cool, and very Y2K coding. It’s no surprise that fashion people, including Taylor-Joy, still can’t forget that era. Low-rise pants are not a new trend and have come back several times in the past, but this time, people are leaning towards this special slim-fit bootcut silhouette. This costume shows all the proof I need.
