As a beauty editor, I have been lucky enough to try a lot of perfumes. Currently, I have around 60 perfumes in my collection, but there is one perfume that gets me the most compliments whenever I wear it: Delina perfume by Parfums de Marly. Though it was launched in 2017, interest in Delina has never been higher. Delina perfume is searched for 60,000 times per month on TikTok (no wonder it went viral on TikTok) and around 15,000 times on Google. Statistics aside, even Snoop Dogg has proclaimed that he carries a bottle of this French perfume in his bag at all times as the biggest perfume twist of 2024. What does Delina smell like?
Delina is a fruity floral fragrance, but what makes this scent especially special is how it spreads: with just a few sprays you are enveloped in a veil of rose, rhubarb, lychee and peony. Even hours after spraying, the subtle hint of vetiver on a base of vanilla, musk and cashmere will still draw compliments.
To me, this fragrance is mainly rose and lychee with a powdery scent. When I put this on, I am transported to an 18th century dressing room filled with bouquets of roses and fluffy powder puffs, with scented powder floating in the air. I think Marie Antoinette would have loved this scent and the beautiful bottle. When I met renowned manicurist Iram Shelton (who often uses Delina’s scented body care for her manicures) recently while getting a manicure, she said that this scent makes her “feel like a princess.” I agree.
That doesn’t mean the scent is outdated, though. On the contrary, it’s feminine, modern, and well-balanced. It’s not too sweet, not too floral, and it’s a versatile scent that will have everyone asking, “What are you wearing?”
How long will Delina last?

Fruity floral scents don’t often have a reputation for being long-lasting, but this one lasts amazingly well. When I spray Delina, the scent wafts from my skin for hours without me even trying to sniff it. I often get compliments on my scent from my coworkers at the office, even 6 hours after application. This perfume definitely has great staying power and will turn heads. In fact, out of the many fragrances I have in my rotation, this is the one that gets the most attention and compliments from friends, coworkers, and strangers alike. In fact, it’s the one that gets the most attention from my boyfriend.
Is Delina worth it?
If you are looking for a luxurious fruity floral fragrance, you should definitely try Delina. Although expensive, this long-lasting perfume is loved by many and often receives compliments from its wearers. It has strong staying power so you don’t need to top it up throughout the day. Even if I wasn’t impressed with the scent, I would still wear it because it is such a beautiful perfume. It is a traditionally feminine scent and can be worn to the office as well as on date nights. Coming in a close second as the perfume I get the most compliments on is Parfum de Marly Valaya. This is the most luxurious take on white floral fragrance and is definitely worth a try if you love Delina but prefer something a little more delicate and light.

This is one of Parfums de Marly’s more masculine scents, but I wear it all the time in the fall and winter. It’s the most expensive vanilla scent I’ve ever tried. It’s warm, sweet, musky and comforting, and the scent lingers on my knitwear for hours in the colder months. I highly recommend it if you’re after a sophisticated vanilla scent.
