There is one product that I always struggle with when it comes to my skincare routine. It’s retinol. As I approach my 30s, I’ve been wanting to incorporate this product into my daily routine, but since I have extremely sensitive skin, it’s been difficult to find a retinol product that actually works for me. That was until I came across a particular product from CeraVe.
This brand has been a staple in my skincare routine for as long as I can remember. Not only is this product very affordable, but it also works well on my sensitive skin (probably because it was developed with an actual dermatologist). So when I saw they launched a retinol serum, I actually rushed to the checkout. I’ve been testing this product for over a month and it’s safe to say I’m hooked. Want to know more? CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum Review
official
First, let’s talk about the formula. This product is designed for post-acne skin to smooth skin texture and reduce post-acne marks. I don’t suffer from acne, but my skin is finely textured, so I thought I’d give this product a try. What I love about this formula is that while it exfoliates the skin, it also ensures that it protects the skin’s natural barrier in true CeraVe style, making it suitable for sensitive and blemish-prone skin (more (unlike many retinol products). .
It contains encapsulated retinol, which promotes cell turnover, and niacinamide and ceramides, which soothe, nourish and protect the skin. The serum itself is incredibly lightweight and absorbs into your skin in seconds, making your routine quick and easy.
application
Not all retinol products can be used every day, so it’s important to follow the brand’s instructions when it comes to retinol. I’ve definitely used too much retinol in the past and experienced quite a bit of skin irritation from it (hello, redness).
CeraVe recommends using a small amount of this serum once a week and increasing slowly. The brand recommends using this product only at night and always using SPF during the day. As with most retinol products, it’s also important to avoid your eyes and lips when applying this serum.
verdict
Junior Beauty Editor Grace Lindsay after testing CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum for a month.
So how did I get started using CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum? Honestly, this is probably one of the best retinol products I’ve tried. The first thing that surprised me was that I didn’t feel any stimulation at all. Unlike other retinol products, my skin didn’t feel dry or red after using it (although I did make sure to use lots of moisturizing products just to be safe).
The second thing that surprised me was that after using it for a month, my skin condition improved a lot. I know that it can certainly take a while for the effects of retinol to show up, and that you need to use retinol longer to improve your skin’s texture, but I’ve already noticed that my skin is smoother and more radiant. I feel like there is.
At just over £20, I can’t recommend this product enough. If you’re thinking of introducing retinol into your skin care routine, this is one of my top choices.
Strong Points: It’s more affordable than other retinol products on the market, suitable for sensitive and blemish-prone skin, and its lightweight formula means a little goes a long way.
Cons: Results may take some time to appear
