A 2025 Review Of Tatcha’s The Silk Sunscreen SPF 50

Growing up, I’m wondering why certain skincare products look so different in my deep skin tone. all The advantages of using it. Throughout my career as a beauty editor, I have been featured in many remarkable high-performance skincare formulas, which are designs to protect all skin from environmental invaders, dirt and debris, but I can’t provide the perfect finish for people with skin with a tone similar to mines.

It will become clear whether it is created within the first few seconds of applying a skincare product to the back of your hand as a test patch, and it is intended to look as good as another skin tone. But the fact that I focus on writing as a way of testing, reviewing and exploring beauty offers countless opportunities for discovering products that set new standards for what skincare is and how it works for everyone. It also helps to have access to expert guidance at the touch of a button, right?

Therefore, the following announcement of new skincare releases Tacha’s “Silkscreen Sunscreen” ($64) Land on my inbox, you can bet that you must be ready to use the notebook in your hand, that you must be ready, and that you must be satisfied, or even better, that you can surpass some sky high expectations. This time I decided to get and test samples for four weeks so that the summer sun is in time, giving this sunscreen an opportunity to enter my daily skincare routine.

From the texture and smell of the formula to the skin finish and everything else it offers, I share all of the discoveries below (which is even more than I expected). For more information about my experience, please scroll down for sunscreen tips and tricks from double-board certified dermatologists and dermatology specialists Dr. Morayo Adisa MD, FAAD.

My sunscreen trip

During the last day of preparation for another cross-country trip back to Native Seattle from Manhattan’s Upper East Side, I received this in the mail and all I can say is that my skin goes Through it A few weeks. I have been even more prominent after arriving in New York last summer, and in need of all the help of a dermatologist and dermatologist, I struggled for years with the dark pigmentation around my nose, mouth and eyes to get back to my healthiest state.

After a few months of my light-like shape, my skincare cabinet was overflowing with serum, oils and moisturizers that had promised to target my dark places, but I had not yet seen the results I had longed for. It was because I started adding powerful yet gentle vitamin C and mineral sunscreen to my lineup and never left the house again without it. Then came the issue of finding sunscreen that protects my skin from the harsh environment of living in a city like New York (even if I had a few weeks left on my watch), and I didn’t leave a scary white cast afterwards.

First thought: See, feel, smell

Input: Tatcha’s The Silk Sunscreen SPF 50. Like the new releases I test, I prefer to make a first impression of the product without thinking about what to expect beyond what is in the packaging. This arrived in a box so I was able to enter the product and learn more about sunscreen. The first thing I noticed was how sophisticated and minimal the design of the bottle is. I could imagine displaying this proudly on my vanity, or slipping out of my bag while being reapplied with time pins.

The next thing I did was to narrow down a small amount of product on the back of my hand to get a closer look at the formula and how easy it is to apply it. I’ll admit that the tan was a bit offensive at first (particularly because I knew it was sold as pure coverage, mineral sunscreen). Without buffing the product onto my skin it almost looked like a pigmented foundation. But with minimal effort, its watery formula buffed my skin like a dream. It was totally perfect! I kept an eye on the drydown and left on my skin for a few minutes as I was ready to watch out for how the formula changes and changes instantly following the first application

I also gave a simple sniff test behind my hands and then used it on my face in case it smells strong and strong all day long to wear. I was delighted and surprised. The more traditional sunscreen smell I picked up was definitely present, but it was faint and faded within seconds. After 5 minutes I couldn’t detect anything.

Applications and ware

I started using sunscreen for 4 weeks under my skincare prepared skin and makeup. From May onwards, I paid particular attention to differences in skin appearance before adding products to my routine in June. Also, when I layered it with other products, I noticed how well the formula was on my skin and the overall feel. Please see my findings below.

  • All day wear: No slips, slides or pills during activity days (including running errands, taking Pilates classes, and fast-paced walks)
  • There is no stacking under the product: It sits really well under the makeup primer and the layer of product, without changing its appearance or texture
  • I felt it was breathable: Unlike other unbelievable unbelievable I used in the past, which I felt like a mask, this was very comfortable to wear for hours
  • Immediate absorption: There was no waiting time for the sunscreen to dry out.
  • The skin shines evenly tones and shines: There is no white cast on the skin like other mineral sunscreens.

I’m particularly pleased with how hyperpigmentation in my face has improved in the problem areas of my face. I’m thinking about how my skin is starting to look with this mineral sunscreen and using a reliable vitamin C serum. I think after a few more months of use, the nasty dark spots I’ve fought over the past year will eventually disappear. He looks young and healthy like he was in his early 20s. Now is the time to concentrate on prevention. I will continue to use this amazing Toucher discovery and help me make sure I am on the right path with my skincare.

What is mineral sunscreen?

There was a lot of trial and error with mineral sunscreen, so discovering this new launch by Toucha made a difference in how we think about the mineral sunscreen formula. In contrast to chemical formulas, what do you think makes minerals a mineral? Adisa has the answers you need to feel confident in your shopping. “Mineral sunscreen, also known as physical sunscreen, stays on the surface of the skin and scatters UV rays,” she says. “It acts like a shield on the surface of the skin. Chemical sunscreens contain UV filters (such as avobenzone, oxybenzone, octinoxic acid) that absorb UV radiation and convert them into heat released from the skin.”

According to Adisa, mineral sunscreens are made up of titanium oxide and zinc oxide. Colored mineral sunscreens own the added dyes (such as iron oxide) and add additional protection against visible light. Mineral sunscreens provide the perfect base for makeup. The reason some mineral sunscreens leave white castings on dark skin tones is because the formula uses titanium oxide and zinc oxide. “[They’re] When applied to the skin, naturally occurring white particles that stay on the surface of the skin reflect light and ultraviolet rays. ”

For best results using mineral sunscreen, Adisa recommends applying it at the end of your skincare routine. “To apply, use nickel size amounts and dots on the face (forehead, cheeks, chin) and apply a thin layer at once to gradually build coverage while reducing the white cast and allowing for ease of application,” she says.
