While color trends have certainly had a major impact this year, there’s one constant shade I see constantly in the background on social media and around town: green. Whether you’re obsessed with the “brat” shade of neon green this summer or drawn to the more muted moss-like hue, this color in all its variations is sure to appeal to a wide range of tastes. Just like us, there are many sides to green, but if you’ve got a lime green bag or a cozy kelly green cashmere sweater, what do you pair it with?
Luckily, you don’t have to struggle to find colors to pair with green. If you’re the type to wear the color from head to toe, green is a great choice, but it’s equally great to wear as an accent. No matter how you define your personal style, once you’ve familiarized yourself with the following colors that go with green, you’ll be able to come up with lots of different ways to incorporate them into your daily rotation.
Combining colors isn’t always easy. There’s a very fine line between the perfect combination that you can wear over and over again and an outfit that just looks different. offLuckily, green is easy to incorporate in most cases, and there are a few specific colors that pair really well with it. That’s why I would say that this saturated hue is just as good as any neutral color you have in your wardrobe. To prove my point, I’ve collected seven different examples from the fashion creators we most admire. We’ve seen options ranging from a green satin slip dress paired with a white cardigan tied around the waist, green cargo pants with a soft beige cardigan, to green jumpers with cobalt blue and cherry red accents. Personally, I layer a fitted green jumper with my darkest navy denim jeans and I’m coming back to this style. If you want to incorporate a little more green into your closet, check out the amazing combinations I’ve posted ahead.
Check out the chicest colors that go well with green:
1. White
Style Notes: Whether olive or emerald, green is the perfect base for bright white, especially when transitioning from crisp cream and ecru summer pieces into your autumn wardrobe. Copy Monique’s fabulous style by layering a loose jumper over wide-leg trousers. When it comes to accessories, the world can be yours.

2. Black
Style Notes: Try combining black and green for an ultra-polished finish – Abisola perfectly pulls off a classic leather jacket here – and there are lots of different ways to pull off this combo, from teaming green trousers with a black vest and turtleneck to a monochrome black trousers and top with a sophisticated green coat.

Veda Marco Leather Oversized Bomber
It’s a worthwhile investment piece that comes in four cool colors.
Whether you’re wearing cargo pants, flared pants, or satin pants, pointed toes always make you look sophisticated.
3. Brown
Style Notes: What happens when you mix two of the earthiest colours? Only good things happen. The key is to choose shades of the same colour temperature. Think yellowish brown and lime green, like Sarah does here, or deep bluish green and dark cocoa shades. I also like the idea of using brown as an accent colour. If you’re wearing a green dress or an outfit with green undertones, top it off with a chocolate-coloured suede bag or sandals.

Shoes are also a great way to combine green and brown, whether that be sandals, sneakers or slingback heels.
4. Blue
Style Notes: Green also pairs wonderfully with blue, especially when worn with jeans. Emily’s light blue jeans here are perfect for spring, but also work well for fall with a trench coat. But don’t limit your palette to just one color: dark navy trousers with a green top look super sophisticated, and cobalt blue is an unexpected pop of color.

Bobbi suede shoulder bag
A navy bag will look great paired with a green jumper or sweater dress.
5. Beige
Style Notes: Liv’s style proves that beige shouldn’t be forgotten as an option when it comes to rocking green cargo pants or moss-like wide-leg trousers. This soft neutral isn’t as bright as white, so it’s perfect for those looking for a more subtle colour combination. Apart from knitwear, other ensembles to consider are beige trench coats, leather jackets and crop tops.

6. Green
Style Notes: One of the coolest ways to wear green is only Green. Opting for a monochrome look, as Rebecca does so cleverly here, will instantly transform your look and mean you won’t have to think twice if anything clashes. Add a bag and shoes in another shade of green or neutral tone to tie the whole look together.

totem
Embroidered silk twill shirt
This top is just as comfortable as pajamas, but more sophisticated.
7. Grey
Style Notes: Let’s be honest, even though gray is a neutral color, it’s often a difficult color to style. It can feel too casual or not match the rest of your wardrobe with warmer colors. Luckily, Amaka came up with the perfect combination that I never expected: green and gray look really nice together. The gray seems to enhance the saturation of the green, and the green gives the gray a more luxurious look.
